I'm probably going to need a new laptop in the foreseeable future, and I want some recommendations to start looking into. While this is technically something I could look up myself, I can't trust that most of the sources I see aren't paid to promote otherwise bad products. I'm not a tech person, and I don't want to have to know more than basic structural parts and a few different brands. I don't wanna have to do graduate-level research just to make sure I'm not screwing myself over, I just want something strong enough to run games roughly on the level of Deep Rock Galactic or lower without worry. I'm more of an Indie person, so this computer doesn't need to run high-intensity games like elden ring. I just like the freedom of stronger computers as opposed to macbooks or things like that.
The computer I have currently is a Dell G15 5525. I ever since I got it a mere 31/2 years ago it's been plagued by constant defects. Even now it's incapable of charging on it's 4 month old charger (the third I've gone through since I got it) and the keys just decide to stop working sometimes. I'm not sure it will last until fall when I go back to college and am reliant on a laptop again. Don't worry about trying offer fixes, I've already learned how to fix it several times over. Once it dies again, I just don't want to bother anymore. Needless to say, I am NOT buying anything Dell makes again. I'm not saying this just to complain, though. I'm bringing this up because it's otherwise exactly the kind of computer I'm looking for when it does decide to work. What brands have a similar amount of power but doesn't start blue-screening less than a month after I get it?

Our picks run the gamut of many different brands, though we do often see the same names rate highly in our lists. Some of these are gaming specialists, and others are not. At any given time, you should expect to see some systems from the biggest manufacturers, which always sell multiple models and configurations at various price points. These primarily include Acer, Asus, Dell, and Lenovo. The last, in particular, has been serving up impressive value in the gaming category recently.
Some of the more specialist brands that consistently produce great gaming rigs are Alienware (a Dell subsidiary), Gigabyte, MSI, and Razer. Some of these, particularly Razer machines, come with hefty price premiums but emphasize superior build quality.
