I'm probably going to need a new laptop in the foreseeable future, and I want some recommendations to start looking into. While this is technically something I could look up myself, I can't trust that most of the sources I see aren't paid to promote otherwise bad products. I'm not a tech person, and I don't want to have to know more than basic structural parts and a few different brands. I don't wanna have to do graduate-level research just to make sure I'm not screwing myself over, I just want something strong enough to run games roughly on the level of Deep Rock Galactic or lower without worry. I'm more of an Indie person, so this computer doesn't need to run high-intensity games like elden ring. I just like the freedom of stronger computers as opposed to macbooks or things like that.
The computer I have currently is a Dell G15 5525. I ever since I got it a mere 31/2 years ago it's been plagued by constant defects. Even now it's incapable of charging on it's 4 month old charger (the third I've gone through since I got it) and the keys just decide to stop working sometimes. I'm not sure it will last until fall when I go back to college and am reliant on a laptop again. Don't worry about trying offer fixes, I've already learned how to fix it several times over. Once it dies again, I just don't want to bother anymore. Needless to say, I am NOT buying anything Dell makes again. I'm not saying this just to complain, though. I'm bringing this up because it's otherwise exactly the kind of computer I'm looking for when it does decide to work. What brands have a similar amount of power but doesn't start blue-screening less than a month after I get it?

What is the best gaming laptop?
The Alienware 16X Aurora is a powerful gaming laptop that handles modern games with ease and makes them look amazing. It's got an Intel Core Ultra 9 275HX CPU and RTX 5070 graphics, so performance is top-notch without going overboard on price.
i primarily play games like resident evil, baldur's gate 3, god of war, and overwatch 2 using a loaner pc that has an intel core i5-6600K cpu @ 3.50GHz 3.50 GH, 16gb ram, and a nvidia geforce gtx 1070 ti gpu. it was a cheap, quick backup pc so he said it wasn't very good when he let me use it. i'd agree based on the performance it's given for my games, but it runs things fine enough for me to play.
i would say it's a bit slower on heavier games like bg3 and res evil (and i have to keep graphics relatively low-medium), but overwatch is perfectly fine to play even on the highest graphics settings. then again that game is relatively small. it absolutely STRUGGLES to run anything like hogwarts legacy or god of war.
i'm not very great at knowing what parts equate to what value while gaming besides seeing what recommended spec requirements each game lists, but all i know is i value high graphics because i am a visuals junkie for rpgs and need decent storage (1tb, preferably 2tb) bc bg3 alone is 150gb and i have hundreds of games i rotate between playing. 16gb ram is fine i think? but when it comes to cpu and gpu i'm lost, especially taking into consideration the price point of devices.
My parents are planning on getting my little brother a new gaming laptop for Christmas but none of us are knowledgeable about PC’s/Laptops, my dad and I exclusively play on consoles. So, currently, what is considered to be the absolute best laptop for gaming at a maximum $2,000USD budget at retail price? Thanks! (He mainly plays Call of Duty, Minecraft PvP servers, Roblox, and CSGO, if that info helps any)
