Hey everyone!
I'm currently in the market for a new laptop with a budget of under $1000, and I wanted to get some opinions from the community. After doing some research, one of the options that caught my eye is this one:
💻 HP Victus 15" w Ryzen 5 8645HS, RTX 4050 (6GB GDDR6) & 32GB DDR5 RAM
It seems to offer pretty solid specs for the price, but I’m wondering if this is truly the best bang for my buck, or if there are other models I should consider in this price range.
My main priorities are:
Longevity – I'm hoping this laptop will last me at least 4 years.
Academic Use – I'm enrolling in a Computer Science program with plans to minor in Cybersecurity, so I need something powerful enough to handle coursework, programming, VMs, etc.
Display quality – Not a dealbreaker, but good color/brightness is definitely a plus.
Gaming performance – I mostly play Rocket League, Valorant, and occasionally some AAA games.
Do you think this is the best option for my needs and budget? Or are there other laptops you'd recommend that might be a better fit?
Any suggestions, experiences, or recommendations would be super appreciated!
Thanks in advance 🙏
