Since Hall effect Keyboards/Switches took basically the whole gaming industry over, and I want to equip one of my endgame keebs with a Hall effect pcb, does anyone know if any company sells/plans to sell 65% Pcbs that will fit in the likes of a Keycult 65 or SingaKBD Kohaku???

I haven't posted about my analog hall effect keyboard recently so I made a quick video to go over how I made the PCB and it also covers a bit of the case design:

The keyboard uses 3D printed magnetic separation + levitation switches that are inherently hot-swappable since they're entirely contactless. Another interesting feature is that they don't use any springs at all and simply use the magnets themselves to provide both force and (extremely) tactile feedback.

The switches are parametric and can be customized to your heart's content. Want long travel or short? No problem: That's a parameter. Want a stronger or weaker switch? Also a parameter! Larger or smaller magnets? That too is a parameter!
The switches use a regular Cherry MX cross mount so yes, it's compatible with regular Cherry keycaps.

Dumb I-should-probably-just-google-this Q: What program does one use to manipulate the parameters of the files to customize this? "Real" Q: What changes the strength of the switch? The distance between the magnet and the sensor? Magnet size/strength? both?

I was thinking of making a PCB with transistors on it that you could use as a strip, but that takes time and I havent done it yet, but this would make it a lot easier for people to wire it up for the various myriad of keyboards out there. Note that the BUD Honeywell Hall effect keypad was successfully wired up to a teensy and working without any of this.

Hey guys,
I’m on the hunt for a Hall Effect keyboard mainly for competitive gaming. I know Wooting is the go-to pick and everyone swears by it, but I’m kinda looking for something that also has a bit more aesthetic appeal and solid build quality.
Budget’s around 200€.
Any recommendations or hidden gems you’d suggest?

There’s a bunch of options out there, but most of their software is honestly terrible. Wooting’s still kinda the gold standard, but if you’re tryna skip it, keychron’s decent. Lemokey’s basically the same company with a few tweaks, though their ks37 switches and overall HE setup feel a bit meh. Epomaker’s got one that’s not bad either- shine through pbt caps and some nice A-rgb if you’re into that. Just keep in mind you’ll need to mess around with the software for actuation points or stuff like rapid trigger/dks.

Wooting is not the go-to pick and hasn’t been since years. It’s probably the worst option you can get today, extremely overpriced, 200+ for an awful keyboard with poor build quality, a shitty low quality plastic case, terrible switches, one of the worst performance if not the worst in the entire HE industry… What’s your preferred layout so I can recommend you something?
