r/VacuumCleaners on Reddit: Best Overall Cordless Vacuum for Pet Hair?
January 31, 2025 -

Hello! 👋🏼 What would you say is the overall best cordless vacuum for dog hair on hardwood floors? We have no carpet or area rugs but we have 4 big dogs (that shed a lot). Just looking for something that won’t easily clog. I don’t mind having to empty multiple times, we are just trying to avoid clogging! (Run time also isn’t a huge issue as this would be just for the downstairs). Thanks in advance!

*edit: i am open to all price ranges! (if it’s an investment, that’s fine!) although ~ $400 - $600 would be the most realistic.

Best cordless vac? I have a vacuum but my toddler loves to unplug it and play with the cord, yikes! Be nice to have a cordless to use as a daily.

About 50/50 carpet and hard floors. We do have a golden retriever so definitely has to handle dog fluff!

Prefer under $400 but would go as high as $600 if truly worth it.

for cordless vacs that can actually keep up with golden retriever tumbleweeds, the main thing is suction + brushroll design. a lot of cheaper sticks look sleek but choke on pet hair because the rollers tangle instantly. battery life also matters more than people think. under 30 minutes means you’ll constantly be rushing to finish before it dies. reddit consensus usually circles around dyson and tineco in that mid-to-high price range. dyson is known for raw power and accessories, while tineco gets praise for being quieter and having swappable batteries. a lot of people have been pointing toward reddit vetted too since it compiles top vacuums from across the sub, which saves a ton of scrolling. under $400 you’ll usually be looking at models that are fine for touch-ups, but struggle with deep carpet. closer to $600 gets you into units that feel more like a true replacement for a corded upright. what i’d do: check the rated run time (20 min = light jobs, 40–60 = full house), whether it has an anti-tangle roller, and how expensive filter/roller replacements are. some people on r/vacuumcleaners keep a list of which models actually survive pet households, and there’s also a site where someone compiled top vacuums purely from reddit reviews, so you don’t have to comb through endless threads might be worth skimming since you’ve got that budget flexibility. curious though, do you mostly want it for quick daily runs or do you plan to ditch the corded entirely? that’ll decide whether you want the light stick category or the beefier ones that edge toward $600.

I have a bathtub in my washroom and my hair keeps getting stuck all around the tub after I bathe. I don’t have long hair but cleaning it daily after I bathe is a hassle (especially because I have roommates). Budget is under 50 usd. I was looking at the Black + Decker DustBuster handheld vacuums but I’m not sure if that’s a good choice.

Im looking for something that can charge and doesn’t need to be plugged in & something with STRONG suction.

I have black interior car and a yellow lab, so my whole car is coated in her fur. I’ve always accepted it, but I want to take better care of my car now. Any suggestions?

The idea of taking a pet hair roller to my entire car sounds exhausting. I’m looking for something effective and efficient.

Hey guys, I’m drowning in pet hair and my current vacuum is basically just pushing it around at this point. Need something that actually picks up fur from carpets, hardwood, and furniture without getting clogged every five minutes. If it can handle long hair without turning into a tangled mess, even better. Found this list on reddit:

https://www.reddit.com/r/newproducts/comments/1jbvvr9/top_5_best_vacuum_cleaners_for_pet_hair_2025_new/

Budget is around $200–$600, but I’ll go higher if it’s really worth it. My place has a mix of carpet, hardwood, and some rugs, so I need something that can handle all of that without struggling. Also wouldn’t mind if it’s good for dust and allergens since pet dander is everywhere.

Tried a few before but either the brush got jammed up or it was a nightmare to clean. Not trying to drop cash on another overpriced dust blower. What’s the best one I can get this year??? Thank you.

I'm looking for some recommendations for a handheld vacuum. I have a lot of cats and the hair is everywhere. The attachments on my regular vacuum cleaner don't do much to get it off my couch.

October 7, 2025 - Cordless helps a lot in small spaces. I use the Shark PowerDetect Cordless Stick Vacuum because it’s light and handles pet hair well. Plus, it empties itself at the dock so cleanup’s quick. ... Dyson handheld.

I have a white long haired cat who sheds like nobody’s business. I’m looking for something that can be used to vacuum our couch and cars.

Ideally something that has a wide attachment for the couch cushions and a smaller option for corners, and ideally $100 or under. It doesn’t have to be perfect, I just need less cat hair in my eyes.

Many cordless vacuums under $100 lack power and run time. I recommend looking at this Hoover Onepwr Blade Max AutoVac $92. It's a hand held vacuum that you can use with or without the hose. It comes with 3 standard tools plus a mini motorized tool for upholstery and stairs. Notably, this Hoover comes with 2 removable batteries, where most handhelds have one fixed battery. It doesn't have a hepa filter but most cordless vacuums under $100 do not have hepa filters either. It's on the bigger side of hand helds but that means a bigger bin, bigger motor, and larger battery. I don't recommend any Black + Decker cordless vacumms, I have one and it makes more noise than suction.

r/VacuumCleaners on Reddit: In terms of handheld vacuums, is the Bissel Pet Hair Eraser the best at getting hair off couches?
July 10, 2025 -

To preface, i own a Bissel Pet Hair eraser and it works just OK. I love having a handheld vacuum which I can quickly grab and vacuum my couch, but I find that this thing do tend to miss a lot of hair, and I think part of that is due to the brushes relying on a small strip of material which pulls the hair off the couch.

So I was wondering, is there a better HANDHELD vacuum for getting pet hair off furniture, or is this as good as it gets for handhelds?

I saw Dyson has a Car and Boat handheld, and it made me wonder if the spin brush on that model would perform better than what I have.
