I scraped different reddit threads where people were asking for the best gaming headsets across different communities. Then I ran a sentiment analysis through a software to see which headsets got positive reviews consistently and which ones got mixed reactions and which got negative reviews.
Right now this is still very much a work in progress so I’m looking for some feedback on which ones I should be looking for in my analysis.
My goal isn’t just to find what’s most mentioned but what reddit actually trusts because reddit is what most of us turn to for authentic recommendations.
You can see the threads and comments that I scraped on my website which is called Reddit Vetted. Detailed breakdowns for all these headsets (like in the pic) are also up on the site in case you want to get into this further. Again, I’m planning to add more models.
Here is a list of the headsets I’ve analyzed so far (still adding more to this list based on feedback):
AOC Gaming Headset
HyperX CloudX
HyperX Cloud III Headset
SteelSeries Arctis Nova 3
SteelSeries Arctis Nova Pro
SteelSeries Arctis Nova 5
SteelSeries Arctis Nova 1
Corsair Void
Alienware AW520H
Logitech G Pro X2
Turtle Beach Recon 200
Turtle Beach Stealth 600
Razer BlackShark V2 X
Turtle Beach Recon 70
Turtle Beach Recon 50X
Razer Kraken Gaming Headset
Ozeino Gaming Headset
My whole method:
– Scraped Reddit threads from different “best gaming headsets” threads.
– Cleaned and filtered comments to capture real product mentions.
– Pulled out product names, analyzed sentiment and context (some more complicated stuff here)
– Scored each item based on how often it’s mentioned and how positive those mentions are (reviews are broken down into 3 categories: positive, negative and neutral)
– Combined duplicate models and brand variants so the rankings weren’t skewed by repetition (more complicated stuff)
– Added a clean category search and visual summaries (like in the pic).
I am really interested in your feedback. Any headsets you feel are missing from the list entirely? Mention here and I’ll find more threads to analyze them next because this is an ongoing project that I actually learned a lot from. I want to keep working on it till I perfect my analysis, and build something that will actually help everyone in the future. I would love more input on how I can improve.
