I get what you mean. Real high pressure showers almost feel aggressive at first and then you get addicted to them. I went down that rabbit hole too and most so called high pressure heads were honestly pretty weak. What got me close to that feeling again was using a strong basic shower head paired with the SparkPod Shower Filter inline. It does not restrict flow much, so pressure stays strong, and the water actually feels sharper instead of soft and mushy. I am also not into massage modes and this setup gives a solid even spray that hits hard without weird patterns. Funny enough your box cutter hack makes sense. Removing restrictions is half the battle. When I was little, my parents wanted to redo the bathroom. One of the things on the list, aside from cabinets, tile etc.. was water pressure. My pops instructed the plumbers to use 3/4" shower pipe instead of the standard 1/2". They tried to argue the entire time about it but eventually caved, sort of. They put 3/4" pipe where it was visible and stepped it down to 1/2" by the water heater and man was my pops pissed. Anyway, he made them redo it with 3/4" pipe going the whole way. His philosophy was, pressure is good but volume is better. Long story short, that shower pressure was the absolute strongest I've ever felt in my life. First time we turned it on, the handheld shower head part lifted out of its holder at mach 9. I miss those days.
