Best Horror Movies 2022 | Rotten Tomatoes
December 28, 2023 - A singular film in so many ways, Ti West’s X, the first of the promised Pearl trilogy, very well may be the pinnacle of what the series could offer, and it tops our Best Horror category. That is saying something, considering Pearl, the second installment, also made our list.

The Best Horror Movies Of 2022 So Far According To Rotten Tomatoes – Did They Get It Right? - SlashFilm
May 5, 2022 - The eleventh through the twenty-second films on the list all have an approval rating under 60%, which, by the Tomato standard, is technically "Rotten." The less-approved-of movies include such films as "Studio 666," the horror movie wherein Foo Fighters play themselves, the latest installment in the "Texas Chainsaw Massacre" series, now overreaching to its ninth installment, a shark movie with Alicia Silverstone called "The Requin," and the supremely silly video game-based Netflix horror movie "Choose Or Die" about a haunted text-based computer game.

Seen them all. Mostly really good especially Sissy, Hellbender, The Innocents and A Wounded Fawn. Needs more The Menu, Glorious, Pearl and Resurrection.

Hellbender - I really like what these guys are doing, it's good low budget proper grassroots horror. Personally I prefer The Deeper You Dig, but Hellbender is still good. The Innocents - Excellent. One of my favourite horrors of the year. Super dark 'kids are evil little bastards' horror. Sissy - Surprisingly gory black comedy slasher(?) that is a ton of fun. Definitely in the wave of social media influencer inspired films out atm. Killed at the showing I went to. Saloum - It's very interesting, but I admit it's a film I 'appreciate' more than love. A Wounded Fawn - Look, you probably need to be really into vague, surreal, artsy-fartsy horror-ish films to like this one. Fortunately I am! Probably the best credits sequence since... Well, Pearl. X, Prey and Barbarian are all great but they've been bigged up by everyone already. None of them really need my help. They're all fantastic though imo. You Won't Be Alone - Awesome folk horror. It's fully recommend. It's also shot in a way that looks gorgeous too. I don't want to compare the two but if you liked The VVitch, you'll probably like this. Hatching - Finnish coming-of-age, horror-as-metaphor film about a girl growing up with the pressure of a demanding mother trying to live vicariously through her daughter. It's real good, bit of a slow burn and you might be able to predict where it's going, but I think it works.
