Just built my my pc ryzen 7 9800x3d titan 360 aio 3500x case. So using icue link what’s the best fan curve to set up that will keep my system cool but also not sounding like a fighter jet. As of now while playing Minecraft(waiting for gpu to arrive) the fans ramp up and I feel like my pc is gonna ask me for a boarding pass and take off into the sky so If someone could screen shot their settings that would be greatly appreciated!!! This is how I work with iCue: I have created a fixed profile for the normal intake and outtake fans with 50% outtake and I think 20% intake. The corresponding case fans run on this preset. I have created a curve in iCue for the Titan RX. The sensor for the curve is the coolant temperature. I have staggered the curve so that the speed goes up between 30 and 42 degrees. I have set the 3 fans of the Titan RX to this profile. This works great so far for me. The Pump of the Titan RX runs on the Balanced Titan RX Preset

for 350x, i recommend for the usual 8 fan setup: bottom intake fan/top exhaust fans with rad, coolant temp sensor, 0% at <30C, 80% at 42C, 100% at 45C, rest of the curve is up to you side intake fans / rear fan , GPU temp sensor, 25% at gpu usual idle temp, 60% at GPU usual load temp, 80% at GPU load temp + 5C however, if you have the full 10 fan setup instead, then set the 3x bottom and 1x rear to gpu temp and the 3x side and 3x top to coolant instead

So im new to setting custom fan curves, looking for fan curve reccomendations so my pc doesnt sound like a space ship ready for takeoff anytime temps get a lil high. I appreciate the help!

It simply sets the FAN RPM according to temperature. Please note that things other than the fan used in the radiator can be made to operate by simply setting the RPM to a level where the noise is not annoying. In the case of the radiator fan, if it is operated at too low RPM, cooling performance will decrease, so do not set it that way.

Start by setting your 3 rad fans to "Radiator Fan", so they only spin up when the coolant is actually getting warm. If your CPU is warming up, it's the pump you want to ramp up, not the fans on the Rad per se. iCUE by default tends to use CPU temperature for fan curves, and that'll cause QX fans to ramp up to nearly full blast at around 60 degrees, and they can be noisy when you have 9-10 in a case. For the other fans, I haven't yet played with them, but I was contemplating using a temp sensor for another component that's air cooled as the trigger, rather than the CPU package, maybe one of the different motherboard sensors could be useful here.

Hello guys. I just built a new 14900k and 4090 rig with a corsair 5000D airflow. I splurged because I upgraded from a 4770K rig with a 780 TI. Well this is my first computer with liquid cooling ever. I have the new qx version of the lcd 360 mm AIO. I have 3 qx 120 mm fans in the front and one 120 mm qx fan as the exhaust. I have all the fans connected to the icue link hub so they are all addressable. I am new to the Icue software and was curious if it has the ability apply presets downloaded online for pwm fan curves? I currently have all the fans set to a coolant curve that is super silent peaking at 30% pwm and 400-500 rpm only while gaming. After a long time like an hour of gaming max settings, the coolant temp will reach 50-51 and the 4090 is only 60 degrees. I like my current silent curve but I don't know if it is safe for other components on the motherboard. Basically could you guys give me silent fan curve pointers? Maybe show me pictures or tell me the values to plot in the software?

50 C is pretty high for the coolant. I have my radiator fans set on a custom curve that goes up to 100% if it gets above 40 C. What's your layout like? One of the cool things you can do with the 5000 series is have the radiator set to a side intake, like I have here. Then I have the front intake and top exhaust fans set based on the GPU temperature. That way everything gets fresh air and the fans only ramp up when they need to.

I just run everything at 100%. Fans and pumps are designed to run that way so you're not shortening their lifespan. If it's not too loud for you, then just max it.

I am trying to set my fan curve settings for my pc and am curious what the difference between the “Quiet” preset and the “Icue Link” preset is (full preset name includes the aio cooler name: “Icue Link H170i LCD Quiet”.

It seems there is an Icue link version for each of the three preset settings: quiet, balanced, and extreme. Does this link the fan curve to the temp of the aio? I noticed the aio pump only has these link preset options and not the regular versions.

If that is the case should I put all of my fans on this link preset? If I don’t will the normal non-link “quiet” preset still work correctly based on temperature?

What confused me is when I turn on device memory mode, I had the fans on the normal non-link “quiet” preset setting, but they weren’t spinning at all! They only started spinning after I changed them all to the Icue link preset version.

I think H170i listens to water temp vs cpu core temp. Personally for AIO I do a custom curve, 30% fan around 36-38C, 100% fan 43C. Rest of my case fans are on a curve that listens to the gpu, but if your AIO is exhaust you can just use that curve for all fans since your gpu will heat it.

LINK preset are meant for the pump. Use the normal preset for fans. Ideally, use custom curve for the fans. How to set the custom curve depends on the case, number of fans you have, and location of the AIO.
