This one feels as close to caseless as you can get while still providing decent protection - https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0D6GF387T . The camera button cutout is also rock solid and does not warp, and is thin enough to feel natural using it.

I dropped my 16 Pro in an Otterbox Defender case today, and it struck the curb at the exposed section of the screen edge (for the action button). I never use the action button, so I’d actually be fine with something that covers it entirely.

You’d need to find a case that has a capacitive button instead of a cut out. Also that’s the camera control button, not the action button. That might help your search

Hello! I wondered if anyone could recommend the best protective case for someone who is relatively clumsy. I drop my phone quite often, and am looking for a good case for a new iPhone 16, accounting for the camera button and how easy it may be to break.

I used Casetify for my last 2 phones, and it was amazing for my iPhone 11, but my iPhone 13 Pro broke after a few drops ...

These are the options I have been considering, potentially a combo of two:

Spigen tough armour (black) £19.59
Spigen ultra hybrid T with camera control (clear) £17.49
Spigen ultra hybrid (clear) £11.30
Mous Limitless 6.0 with camera control button £54.99
Mous Limitless 6.0 £49.99

Accounting for prices too, does anyone have any advice? Thanks :)

It seems mous have been pretty scummy lately and won’t honour warranty+there’s an increasing amount of their cases breaking or deforming. For a case that expensive it seems ridiculous. I’ve used spigen for my 14 pro and now 16 pro and it’s great. I’ve also used the beats case and a pd case. All three brands have amazing warranty and they’re great cases. I’d be going for spigen or pretty much anything that isn’t mous or Casetify.

In my opinion spigen is the absolute king of value to cost ratio. I don’t think almost any cases are better for the money. The tough armor is probably best for your case. I had a spigen hybrid on my iPhone 11 that tumbled off my motorcycle at 55 MPH and was subsequently ran over by a car and the phone was just fine. I’ve heard good things about the caudabe sheath but it’s recommended by lots of YouTubers and they have an affiliate program with 15% off discounts basically perpetually available which makes me enormously suspect of the actual quality. Especially when they completely ignore spigen as a whole. If you like the sheath the Tinee Owl case on Amazon looks to be a very similar case.

Loved Otterbox till i saw a terrible review on this design for the iPhone 16, i currently have an iPhone 14 with Commuter Series and loved it, so i obviously tried ordering another Otterbox (luckily none of my payment methods worked for some reason), so since i wont be getting Otterbox for my new 16 what should i get? Defender and Commuter both have the same design for the camera button, and i need a rugged case, I drop my phone quite often at work...

You could look at youtube for different cases. I had to do it because I hate that design, there are multiple cases where camera button is on the case. I saw some youtube reviews and had plenty of options to choose from.

I don’t like cases that make the bezels look thick . I don’t get why some people get these ugly cases that decrease the quality of the experience like I saw some beats cases that even though looked great made the bezels of the phone so thick that the iPhone 11 would be jealous

It’s like holding a naked iPhone. I have the black 16Pro and the black aramid fiber looks awesome on this phone. It’s super thin which is nice but the camera cutout is made of metal so it protects your camera lenses from scratches. The only thing this case won’t do is protect your phone from a drop on concrete but then again I have yet to ever drop my iPhone before and I’ve had an iPhone since the 3GS. I love the look and the feel of this case because the aramid fiber isn’t printed in so you can feel the weaving in your hand. I’d recommend it if you’re not a clumsy/careless person. If you are then I would suggest the Mous Limitless 6.0 case. I also have that in aramid fiber but I believe theirs is printed on. It matters not because I use my Mous cases when I’m traveling/hiking with my phone.

I just got my first Pitaka case (recommended by someone else in another post) and I LOVE it!!!!! It’s very well made and paper thin. I got it in Moonrise (shades of blue) and it’s so pretty. I’m currently using it with a wrist strap (phone charm) that I made out of really pretty glass beads. And I have an Ohsnap color grip on order in blue. They’re also really really thin, but I like how they work and feel as a grip.

Additionally, in my country, the Spigen case is almost the same price as the original Apple silicon case. So, I’ve been using the Spigen case for a few days now, and I’m thoroughly impressed. The camera control works seamlessly, and the case itself looks fantastic. Even though I initially thought the clear design would be unappealing, the black tinted version actually looks even better than Apple silicone cases to me. The MagSafe magnets are strong, and I was worried that the plastic case would be slippery, but it turned out to be surprisingly stable. I’ve had experience with the Apple silicone case on my iPhone 6 and 14, which both started disassembling after about a year of use. Based on that experience, I highly recommend the Spigen case over the Apple one.

If you prefer a non-transparent case, the Apple silicon case might be a better fit despite concerns about durability, as it offers excellent grip and protection. You could also look into other non-transparent camera control cases like those from OtterBox or Mous for added durability.

Maybe it's just me but the cases for the new pro models have been seriously bad this year. Your choices are cheap and plasticky or expensive but gigantic cutouts for the camera button. Like all the brands I've bought in the past that had nice leather options or idk anything nice has just been not available this year, on preorder, or has a gigantic cutout. Its frankly frustrating. Am I going crazy? Do others share my opinion

EDIT: Seeing a lot of people miss the point of my rant in that I do not want a cutout at all. But, I also want leather or metal or higher quality materials for my case. Right now my choices are no cutout, actual buttons, but plastic or clear, or high quality leather or carbon fibre etc but has a cutout of some description.

EDIT 2: Got the Supcase Unicorn Beetle Grip Mag or whatever you call it lol, just came in, works great love the case, button works flawlessly, and I don't even mind the frosted/clear back. Its an actually nice case and for less than 30$ it blows the apple case out of the water.

Apples official cases use a glass part over the camera button that acts like a capacitive pass through for the button. Works really well and makes the case look and feel relatively normal. Haven’t found a single third party case to copy it. Might be patented? Or they’re just too cheap to do it the correct way like Apple. Too bad Apple official cases suck in many other aspects.

I have a Spigen clear case. It’s MagSafe and has a button cover for the camera control not a cut out. Amazon sells it - Ultra Hybrid T Magfit. I won’t post a link but it’s nice. I’m happy with it.
