Hi everyone, I’m looking for recommendations for a portable battery to use with my iPhone, especially for travel. Fast charging, multiple full charges and compact enough to easily fit in a backpack/pocket are my priorities. What models do you use and recommend for travel? Thank you in advance

Hi there, no idea if this is the correct/best place to ask, but me and my dad just ordered the 17 and 17 pro.
I tried to look into the best battery packs (with the magsafe thing) but majority don't state they're compatible with the 17 ((I assume because its new)) but I want to be safe, rather than sorry haha.
TIA :)
Hey all , I currently have an iPhone 15 Plus, and will upgrade to a newer iPhone soon. Looking for a power bank that works well with iPhone (wired USB-C and/or MagSafe-style charging), something durable for travel / daily use. What power bank do you recommend that balances capacity, safety, portability and fast-charging speed?
Can someone please recommend me a good power bank to charge my phone at least 2 times (usually 10000 mAh) and has a size small enough to carry around in my pocket? (iPhone 12 Pro)
What do you guys think the best charging bank is right now?
I usually keep a wired charger in my bag when I go out. Works fine and charges fast. But I don’t really care much about speed, just want something easy to use. Lately I’ve been thinking of switching to a magnetic one. I use a phone lanyard when I’m out, so it’d be great to charge while it hangs there.
Just looking for something I can snap on and off quickly. Budget’s around $50. Based in the US. Thanks in advance!
Okay, so I just picked up the new iPhone Air MagSafe bank and… wow. I’ve owned my fair share of portable chargers, but this thing feels totally different. Let me break it down:
What I love:
The ridiculous thinness: It’s only 3,000mAh, so yeah, it makes sense, but this is hands down the thinnest portable battery I’ve ever held. It feels less like a chunky power bank and more like slipping a slim wallet or card holder into your pocket. With bigger packs I usually debate whether to even bring them, but this one? I just throw it in my pocket without thinking.
The soft-touch material: the attaching side isn’t rough or plasticky—it’s smooth, almost luxurious. Actually feels good against your hand/skin.
It charges AirPods wirelessly: Didn’t expect it to work, but it does. Super handy.
The design details: The charging light hides behind translucent plastic, so it glows subtle and clean instead of screaming “cheap blinking LED.” Legit one of the nicest-looking power banks I’ve ever seen.
Size vs. a regular pack: Put it next to my 10,000mAh Anker brick and the difference is insane—this thing is dramatically slimmer and way easier to carry.
The cons:
$100 for 3,000mAh is… yeah, steep. You can grab 25,000mAh bricks for the same price.
No wireless recharge for the battery itself (no MagSafe puck support). USB-C only.
No real battery indicator—just orange when dying, green when charged. No idea how much is left unless you guess.
Pretty much exclusive to the iPhone Air. Doesn’t really fit other devices.
At 3,000mAh it’s not a heavy-use solution. If you’re traveling or powering multiple devices, you’ll still want a bigger 10,000mAh+ pack.
Overall: If you’re an iPhone Air user who likes to travel light, this thing is perfect. Apple clearly leaned into slimness with the phone, and this accessory nails the same vibe -tiny boost, premium feel, disappears in your pocket. I’ll still pack my bigger brick for long trips, but for daily carry? This one’s staying with me.
Hey everyone, I'm getting an iPhone 14 soon! But before I get one, I’ll need to figure out which MagSafe power bank to choose. There are so many options out there, and I'm not sure which one to go for.
I found an article on choosing the best MagSafe power bank for an iPhone. It explains what to look for in a power bank, like battery capacity, wattage, extra features, and passthrough charging. This was on the list:
-
The ESR HaloLock Kickstand MagSafe Battery (best overall) - they have a 10,000mAh MagSafe power bank with USB-C cable and kickstand, which can charge two devices at once.
-
Anker 633 MagGo 2-in-1 Charging Station (best premium) - It has dual-device charging station that offers 7.5W charging. It also doesn’t have a built-in kickstand on the battery pack and doesn’t allow for simultaneous wired charging.
-
Baseus Magnetic Power Bank (best budget) - It has a 10,000mAh or 6,000mAh battery capacity that supports PD fast charging up to 20W. It also has a small kickstand hidden in the base and an LED display.
-
Apple MagSafe Battery Pack (best official) - It can be charged using a 20W or higher power adapter and can also charge the phone while attached. The battery pack has been getting positive reviews for its reverse charging feature, which allows it to charge wirelessly while attached to the phone.
Have any of you had experiences with any of these brands listed? Let me know what you guys think.
The Apple one is the only one that gives truly optimized charge. And with this I mean thermally, it has a thermal sensor and communicate with the phone to stop charging it when temperature could be an issue. Plus it has the option to charge the phone up to 90% and keeping it there to extend its battery life on a hard day. Keep in mind that this is a battery EXTENDER, not a charger.
I have the Apple Battery Pack and I like it. The only downside I see with it is that its capacity is very small compared to others you have mentioned on the list.
Apple battery pack should be thought more of a battery extension rather than a power bank(generally speaking). So say, you have 10-20% charge, and you will get it back to perhaps 80% or so without much usage in parallel.
So in this sense, if you want something that brings your phone from 0 to 100, while you are using it, don’t go with the Apple pack.
As an iPhone 15 Pro Max user, I'm wondering if the next one will finally switch to USB-C and maybe come with a newer Apple MagSafe battery pack.
Do you think Apple will actually release a new version? Or should I just grab a third-party magnetic wireless charger instead?
Any advice or recommendations on third-party accessories would be appreciated. Thanks!
I'm in the market for a MagSafe battery pack for my iPhone and feeling a little overwhelmed by all the options out there. I'm looking for something reliable, efficient, and ideally not too bulky.
What are your experiences? Any specific brands or models you absolutely love (or hate)?
Looking for the "best" in terms of:
Charging speed
Capacity vs. Size
Durability
Value for money
Any extra features (like pass-through charging, etc.)
This may be a pipe dream, but has anyone found a MagSafe iPhone battery pack / charger that is...
slim/lightweight
charges reliably and quickly
doesn't overheat too much
Fully portable battery pack -- that attaches to the back of the phone while on the go
under $60 USD
In case it matters, this is for an iPhone 14 Pro
I am now a believer of the battery pack. I must admit after completely lucking out and finding a new one on ebay from a trustworthy seller that the purpose of what this does is far better for me at least than what those other batteries do. This is the perfect companion to the 13 mini as it fits perfectly, does not run hot and kept me at 90% through out the day. Its now been 12 hours since I took my phone off the charger and as soon as i hit 88% around 10am I slapped the battery pack on the phone til around 230pm. It is now almost 7pm and my phone is at 70%. I love the fact that its just a steady wave when its charging and not a tsunami that the other battery chargers offer which is why the phones and batteries run so hot when charging.
Edit new results in link from using battery pack and phone both at 100%. Battery pack went on the phone after the green bar in the new pics until a little after 9pm. Battery pack was at 30% when I took it off the phone. https://imgur.com/UBI5TfN
Currently own an IPhone 7 and probably plan to upgrade to one of the new iPhone 11 models.
Hi, I am looking for a MagSafe powerbank for my iPhone 15 Pro Max.
I need a small one, maximum 6000 mAh, I've read that many get hot, even to the point of ruining the battery or pausing charging. Since iPhone 15s heat up, I'm looking for one that heats up as little as possible and is not the original Apple one.
Thank you!
just to add my experience so far.... although the apple one may be more expensive, very hard to find since discontinued, lightning etc etc.... since i jumped to a ip15pro i have been looking for a battery bank that could magnetically attach... but all my research is leading me back to apple itself.
-
any of the qi 1 chargers will get hot, and the qi 2 are only coming now so in case you really need one, wait for those. but in essence, any wireless battery bank will heat up unless its the apple one.
-
since it communicates with the phone, the apple one can actually work together to prevent degradation of your phone's battery.

thats my personal case, but i already have chargers wherever i need (car charger at 15w , laptop charger at 65w at the office, charger of 5w (yeah i know) for the bedside since i let it charge overnight). a battery bank would only boost this IF i dont get access for a while. so i would lean again to the apple one because it would 'backup' my actual battery.
from where i stand now. as an emergency charger, i will prob get the anker 533 (non magsafe one), add a magnet to it and use a small c to c cable to 'patch' it to my phone. quick charge + no heat issues.
IF i can get one or IF apple releases an updated battery pack, i will pay the 100 usd for it. their market 'engineering' is sooo good they priced accordingly knowing that it would be the best product for the ecosystem as well as preserving your phone.
I’ve just bought an Anker 622, it gets a little hot when charging my 15 Plus, but I think it’s normal using MagSafe charging.
I don't need an expensive one with a lot of charge or fast charging. I just don't want it to get too hot. I've mainly been looking at the Anker 621 and MOFT's stackable one.
