Hey guys! Recently moved to Denver (Uptown) and was curious what everyone’s opinion on the best Italian in the city is? I moved here from San Francisco and Chicago before that - both having great old school Italian, so I’m excited to try out everyone’s recommendations. Thanks!

r/denverfood on Reddit: Best Fast Casual Italian in Denver
January 4, 2024 -

I am currently looking for a fast casual Italian place that is cheap and easy. Everywhere that I find or am suggested is expensive and really nice. I love these places but when I'm looking for some cheesy goodness on a Wednesday night these places are not it. I'm looking for a cheap, divey sort of place that serves their stuff with plastic forks.

The closest place I have found is Bella Italia but even there is a tad pricy.

I from Springfield where we had a place called Pasta Express (https://pastaexpress.com/menu/). Cheap and super easy. I do not expect to find the same food just something in a similar vein.

Find elsewhere

r/Denver on Reddit: What’s the best pasta in Denver?
July 24, 2024 -

Right now, my brother and I are traveling to Colorado to visit family in Denver and to hike. This is the first trip I've taken with him in a while, and he's a complete fanatic for pasta, to the extent of having tried to make it himself at various points. Right now, he lives in a fairly small town in Arkansas where Italian food really isn't a thing, and I figure that a bigger city like Denver would have more options. In your opinion, what's the single best pasta served in Denver, whether at a dedicated Italian restaurant or even just something in a restaurant's menu? As I said, we're going to be going around the state hiking, so if there's anywhere else in the state that you think has better pasta than the Denver area, it would be much appreciated.

r/denverfood on Reddit: Bruno’s is the best Italian food in Denver. Prove me wrong.

Bruno’s on Broadway. GREAT food. Super high quality. Real Italian. Very reasonable prices. Not difficult to get a table. Fantastic service. Family owned. It’s not just good for the price, it’s just very good. It being affordable is icing.

Don’t come at me with Tavernetta. It’s solid but not for those ridiculous prices. Same with Barolo.

Quality Italian is sub par a best.

Would love to hear other suggestions though but if you haven’t tried Bruno’s you have to check it out (making it harder for me to get a table but they deserve it).

r/Denver on Reddit: What is your "go to" Italian place in NW Denver / SE Arvada?
June 29, 2023 -

I am looking for a great "neighborhood" style Italian restaurant that can become my regular place. I'm on the hunt for something that has been around for a while and is ideally family-owned. The ideal place doesn't have a crazy menu, but just does the standard Italian meals, calamari, and pasta dishes really friggen well. Ideal price is about $15-ish for a pasta dish.

I'm in NW Denver - close to Regis University, Berkley/Highlands - but also happy to drive to downtown Denver or really anywhere in Arvada.

Have an anniversary and birthday dinner in the next week and want to find a spot that can become our regular place. I've tried Odyssey in CapHill, and it was fine but nothing to stop me from continuing to find the ideal place. FWIW, when I lived in Chicago my go to place was Topo Gigio where I ordered the Conchiglie Alla Sarda every time.

Looking for an Italian restaurant with nice ambience and good food to take my gf to tonight to celebrate her getting a new job. Not something in the Tavernetta/Olivia price range, something that won't break the bank but is still good.

r/denverfood on Reddit: Is there any good Italian food in this city??

I’ll preface this by obnoxiously stating I’m from the east coast. I lived for 25 years in NJ/NYC and Philadelphia and was spoiled for choice with amazing Italian options that didn’t have to be fine dining. Hell, I had a slice of pizza from a food truck in rural Maryland recently that blew 95% of Denver area pizza out of the water. I live in Lakewood now and I’m sick and tired of bland, over-cooked, sad Italian joints in the suburban strip malls (looking at you Cafe Jordano). I’m 6 months pregnant and if I’m leaving the house and can’t drink the food better be amazing!

So please, please, help me out - where are the real, actually good, Italian spots in the metro area (I will drive for food) that are not Tavernetta level expensive (I can’t take advantage of an amazing wine list now anyhow)???
