For about 100 Euros you can get the "JBL Live Free 2 TWS" Voice, and touch control. IPX5 waterproof, you can use the JBL headphones app to control the EQ and Noise canceling. Ova tubes for better comfort, isolation, and bass. plus 6 microphones for calls with no noise I don't have the EU link but here is the US one :) https://www.jbl.com/wireless-earbuds/JBLLIVEFREE2TWSUAM.html?dwvar_JBLLIVEFREE2TWSUAM_color=Blue-AM-Current&cgid=wireless-earbuds Answer from SkyeVexx on reddit.com

It can also be off brand earbuds.

r/JBL on Reddit: REVIEW: JBL Tune Flex Wireless Bluetooth Earbuds
June 11, 2024 -

When initially purchasing these earbuds I searched for thorough reviews and had difficulty finding any so I'm hoping to help people out when considering purchasing these. I purchased them 10 months ago and have used them almost, if not daily, since.

Overall:

Positives:

  • Good sound quality

  • Good bass

  • Decent noise canceling for quiet, ambient noise

  • Comfortable fit

Negatives

  • Poor case connection

  • Bulky case

  • Clunky app

  • Unreliable

Opinion:

I would not buy a second pair of these, nor would I recommend buying them. They have caused me a lot of difficulty beyond what I would personally expect from Bluetooth earbuds. I do not regret purchasing them (unless I am actively having issues with the battery) and do not feel a need to replace them. $99 is a decent pricepoint for these given the sound quality but the case connectivity issue reduces that value quite a bit.

Details:

  • Shape, Size, and Tip Options:

    • They come with two types of ear tips, a non-sealing pair and multiple sizes of sealing tips that are easy to put on/remove for cleaning or changing out. I have exclusively used the sealing tips since purchase.

    • The sealing tips emphasize comfort over noise cancellation. I find they fit better in my ear than the non-sealing option, but do not provide enough of a seal to drown out noise from even a vacuum, much less power tools, chainsaws, or other loud noises.

    • The earbuds are comfortable in-ear. I've had no issues with it falling out when sedentary or doing light movement. In my experience, they do not stay in while running or with light exposure to moisture.

  • Case and Charging:

    • The case is a very bulbous shape which has bothered me more as time goes on. I keep these in my pocket for the most part and the outline is incredibly visible and in no way discrete.

    • I appreciate the battery indicator lights on the case.

    • The charging is one of the most significant downfalls of these earbuds. They do not fit snugly into the case in any way. Both the earbud terminals and the case interior need to be cleaned frequently for the earbuds to charge.

    • Because of the loose connection between the earbuds and case, they will often become dislodged and connect to devices on their own without the case being opened, which is frustrating and drains battery.

  • Audio:

    • I am by no means an audiophile but I have appreciated the sound quality of these quite a bit. They achieve good range and bass and are in no way tinny. For $99 I am happy with the audio quality.

    • The different options (Noise Cancelling, Ambient Aware, Talk Through) do not make a significant difference from what I have experienced. Noise-canceling does something, but the effect is minimal. It also often produces a white-noise sound when trying to cancel the noise of a fan or running water. I cannot pin down in any significant way the difference between the other two, other than that one of the two makes the audio oddly quiet until you switch to a different setting.

    • EQ Adjustment is fine, but I do not use it often as the app is not as well made as one would hope from an established company like JBL

  • Phone Connectivity:

    • As previously stated, the app lies between mediocre and frustrating. It's fine for initial setup but I don't use it for anything else.

    • Battery readouts from the app are often incorrect, and unable to update if unconnected to the case (I think?). They are generally useless.

EDIT: The charging reliability has declined significantly since I posted this three months ago, almost to the point that I leave them at home. No amount of cleaning the charging "nodes?' fixes this issue. I put them in the case, and they do not charge. I wiggle them, they charge for a bit, they disconnect (on their own? and in my pocket), and the battery drains, so they're unusable when I need them. Maybe I got a bad pair, maybe I somehow used them too much? But for a $90 pair of earbuds I expect more than a year of frequent use before they crap out. I can't even comment on the battery life because I don't know if they ever fully charge. The best I get is a couple of hours out of one ear at this point and the other is almost always dead.

r/Earbuds on Reddit: Honest review - Jabra x JBL x Bose x Anker
November 2, 2024 -

My first long Reddit post… When my 2021 Bose QC died I couldn’t decide on my new earbuds based on reviews so i ordered 4 models to test for myself.

Before getting into it, the Bose QC were my first upper-mid range buds. Before that I used Shure se215 for YEARS (they actually still work). At that time I was super happy with the PNC the Shure offered and I thought the sound was great. The Bose were however far better in comfort, bass power and clarity. First buds I had that I could wear for 5h+ without fatigue. The ANC was also great. So basically I could have just bought new Bose QC but seeing that they weren’t ranking super high in recent reviews, I decided to compare different models. Now because stores wouldn’t let you test earbuds, I have made a shortlist and ordered them from Amazon:

-JBL Buds 3 (discounted to $229 on Amazon) -Jabra Elite 8 Gen 2 ($299) -Anker Soundcore Liberty 4 nc (79$) - I wanted to see if with tech progress we were now paying for the brand more than the quality -new Bose QuietComfort ($250)

*prices in CAD

Fit

Jbl buds 3: ok but seemed less secure Bose definitely has the best fit, notably thx to the changeable tips/winglets Soundcore is second : very good and secure Jabra is third. They all seem comfortable enough but bose is best and jbl not secure enough for my ears so at that point i discarted the jbl and unfortunately did not try the sound quality (I want to send back the ones I do not want so I did not want to risk damaging them).

Case look and finish Jabra case looks and feel the best, followed by jbl, Anker is third and Bose is last (feels cheap)

Fit and finish of the earbuds: tie jabra and bose, soundcore is last

Soundcore review: easy to fit in my ears and quite comfortable. They hang on tight no problem, didn’t have to adjust at any point. I’m not a super fan of the touch buttons because the area you need to press is very small but I think i could get used to it.

Sound is ok to good. Actually pretty good for the $80 cad it costs. There is a good level of bass but it lacks a bit of definition and depth. You can customize the sound with the app, good interface and a few nice options.

NC: it works pretty well. I couldn’t hear my kitchen hood with my head under it. However I could hear the water pouring in my sink. NC in transport is good as well. I noticed that there is a small background noise when in nc or transparency mode in very quiet environment. No big deal I guess. Other thing i noticed is that the sound feels different in each mode (nc, passive nc, transparency) and is definitely less enjoyable in transparency.

Lasly, look is secondary for me but I don’t like how they look in my ears. The angle that works for me looks around 35-40 degrees, which looks weird to me but maybe it’s because im used to seeing lots of airpods which are at 90 degrees. Anyway not a deal breaker

Jabra review: love the look and feel, even the buttons feel awesome. They seemed quite secured in my ears but maybe a bit less than the Soundcore. First connection took me a few min, not as seemless as the soundcore. Even for reconnecting, not 100% fluid… The app is ok but less customization than the app for the soundcore. The find my jabra function seems awesome tho, but i did not test it. Sound quality: good obviously at that price but honestly i don’t think it is better than the soundcore. Trebles weren’t super clear. Bass is deep but kind of takes over the rest of the notes. NC is ok but noticeable white noises in transparency and nc modes. Also, i couldn’t hear a quiet conversation if i had music playing at the lowest level in transparency, which is not as good as bose and soundcore. So at that point the jabra was discarded too.

Bose: the touch buttons seem better than the old model. I had no issue connecting the buds. The comfort is great although the Soundcore is not far behind. The sound quality is best among the three I tested, especially in terms of clarity while having bass as powerful as jabra but less muffled. I find the ANC is also the best out of the 3 and the transparency mode really allowed me to keep the buds and have a conversation.

Verdict

I am not ranking the JBL since I did not really test it. I have such a hard time deciding that I thought i would eliminate it as soon as I felt they were less secure than others (i always want the perfect condition for sound quality so before my old Bose, I was adjusting my buds ALL THE TIME, and I did not want to go back to that. I also use my buds while biking and I sometimes do crazy stuff so the buds need to stay in!!!

  1. Bose: for the few hours I used it, I did not find any default. The case looks and feel cheap but it’s not that important to me.

  2. Soundcore: from a pure sound quality and functionality standpoint, it could be a tie with the Jabra but given that the Jabra is 3 times more expensive, to me the Soundcore is a better choice. I tested the Bose last but before I tested them, I would have chosen the Soundcore to keep.

  3. Jabra: they feel more premium but not the sound and the connection wasn’t as fluid as the others so to me it is not a good deal.

I hope this was useful information!

I'm wanting to buy a pair of Bluetooth headphones for my brother and I've decided on JBL, as that's the brand of his current pair. My budget is 200 USD, I'd rather not spend over this, but might go a little over if need be (if the headphone is really worth it.) My brother likes a good bass, one of the reasons he has JBL currently, so bass-heavy headphones are what I'm mostly interested in. Sound quality and comfort are the two most important factors- not too fussed on noise cancelation or other special features. I was researching the JBL Live770NC, seems to be a solid option, but before I spend the money I want to be sure. Anyone who's had any experience with JBL over-ear headphones, let me know!

So in my uncle's city Medellin, Colombia, there's an area with a bunch of crackheads in the street with a carpet on the floor selling mostly garbage, just random used stuff ppl throw away / give them for free / they dig in the trash / someone recently stole / someone urged for drugs came with to trade for drugs, you find a lot of stuff from toys, electronics, a gaming console, old phones, batteries, tools etc, everything costs from $0.5 - $5usd

Anyway, my uncle found these JBL Live that he probably paid very cheap, he showed me, I'm a sucker for audio, currently using KZ ZS10 Pro X and KZ PR2 but both are wired, I was curious for his finding being JBL, i've heard JBL quality before with wired T110 and T125BT and it's really good, I thought TWS would be even better

I bought the buds from him for only $5, they're really old, I'm surprised they still work (well that's a good thing for the brand) and tried the audio, OMG....... How could anyone ever have bought this? Idk how much these were at launch but I bet they were not cheap, highs are ULTRA saturated, I had to completely kill -10dB from 16Khz down to 2Khz, it was ridiculous otherwise, it would prob kill my hearing in less than an hour

Then I read on JBL site that THE DRIVER SIZE IS ONLY 5.6MM? O M GGGGGGG

I thought 8mm was already CHEAPING on earphone manufacturing, even the JBL wired C50HI is like 8 point something MM, they sound GOOOD, and they're like $7, and the wired T110 with 10mm are even better, for like $10usd here in my country

I mean, I know these TWS are OLD, they're like 2016, but T110 and Panasonic Ergofit already existed with 10mm in 2016, those were like the minimum "high quality" sound one could expect, and I know this is actually the first version, they later released the JBL Live 2 and JBL Live X (still sold today) and out of curiosity I looked at their specs and guess what, ALSO 5.6mm?!

Omg, the bluetooth part of these headphones might be worth dozens of dollars but the audio quality is worth $1 (I bet the ones you buy on Dollar Tree for $1 would be as good if not better), what kind of combination is this? Is this a reality for any other JBL TWS earbuds? Omg I was curious about discovering some of them but not anymore! The T125BT I had a driver of like 8.x too, and they were inferior to T110 but still good, but those are not TWS, they're bluetooth but with a cable behind your head

What a disappointment, I thought JBL put their best in their most expensive line of earbuds which is TWS

r/Earbuds on Reddit: Just Tried the JBL Quantum TWS Earbuds and Here's What I Think
September 20, 2023 -

Hey everyone,

I recently got my hands on the JBL Quantum TWS Noise Cancelling Gaming Earbuds, and I have to say, they've been a game-changer for me. I wanted to share my thoughts and see if anyone else has tried them.

Sound Quality The sound quality is top-notch, thanks to the JBL QuantumSURROUND technology. It's like having a surround sound system in your ears. I've used them for gaming, and the experience is immersive.

Connectivity These earbuds offer dual connectivity options: a low-latency 2.4GHz wireless connection and Bluetooth. I've had zero issues with connectivity so far, and the transition between devices is seamless.

Noise Cancelling The adaptive noise-cancelling feature is excellent. It's not just for gaming; it's been a lifesaver during work and while traveling.

Battery Life The battery life is impressive. I've used them for extended periods without needing a recharge, which is a big plus for me.

Price They're currently on sale for 50% off, making them a steal for the features they offer. If you're interested, you can check them out here.

I've also written a more in-depth review on my blog, which you can read here.

Would love to hear your thoughts or experiences with these earbuds!

These come with a transmitter this time so I plan to really test this out as apparently they are zoom certified when using the transmitter. I'll also give the anc and transparency a good test along with call quality

I can compare against the

I appreciate your insight on these earbuds. I remember your JBL Live Beam 3 thread a little while back. And I peep your others as well. SoundGuys has had their JBL Tour Pro 3 review up for a little bit now. Kind of surprised they had both the Live Beam 3 and Tour Pro 3 reviews up so quickly considering they’ve been kind of sleeping on many of JBL’s past releases. JBL may have put a little pressure on ‘em to review these. I’m not sure why people aren’t talking about these new Tour Pro 3 yet. The data shows a pair of top tier all ‘rounders with excellently balanced tuning and an in-app EQ to match, my favorite combo. And then very good ANC that’s just a half step behind Bose, Sony, and Apple. It looks like JBL’s ANC is a bit better than Samsung’s latest Galaxy Buds3 Pro (in the lowest and higher frequencies). And call quality seems very good too, maybe not quite as good as those Galaxy Buds3 Pro, I’m thinking. I’m interested to know how these compare to the options you mentioned. I suspect these could be among the best earbuds in this price range, and in general, for many people. The question I have is about the passive noise isolation. SoundGuys’ graph for attenuation looks a little too good. They mention right above it that ”the isolation even without the foam eartips is extremely good.” And the graph does show suspiciously good isolation approaching 10dB all through the lowest frequencies, only getting better as you go higher of course. This is a little hard to believe as I’m only seeing this kind of lower frequency attenuation with Sony’s WF-1000XM5 earbuds and their foam eartips. It is better with Sony’s, especially as you go up the response, where none of the earlier mentioned earbuds can compete in those higher frequencies. So JBL’s silicone tips vs. Sony’s foam might make sense but still… I wonder if SoundGuys measured with the included foam tips that the Tour Pro 3 come with. How does the passive noise isolation perform against your other earbuds? I’m talking about the sounds below about 500Hz. You’ll notice any differences best by getting a secure fit and simply leaving them powered off to listen to how much they passively block those lows. I wonder if the included foam tips make a noticeable difference as SoundGuys says ”there doesn’t seem to be a huge difference in performance between the tip types.” That’s hard to believe.
