The K8 keyboard also feels really close to the acoustic Wilhelm Steinmann that I had my first year of lessons on. Not to mention the multi speaker set up that really packs a punch and delivers pretty good sound quality, though the samples aren’t of the quality of any of the top brands that are mentioned in this article, they do still sound pretty great for the beginner looking to buy at that price point.

Answer (1 of 5): Personally I like and have tried 3 quality brands and these are Kawai, Roland and Yamaha. If you want something really tough to take round to gigs I would also look at Nord, although they tend to be slightly more expensive.

Yamaha is one of a few manufacturers that cater to beginners and professionals with the same success.
