I’m looking for recommendations of specific restaurant supply stores where I (not an industry person) can buy hardy, utilitarian kitchen tools — the kind actually used in professional kitchens.
Think metal mixing bowls, whisks, large serving & slotted spoons, conical fine-mesh sieves, steam baskets (like for dim sum) etc. I’m not interested in their “aesthetic” value, nor in paying extra for a celebrity’s imprimatur, but in dependable tools that last.
ETA: I’m in Logan Square, but anywhere in Chicago (or nearby suburbs) works for me! (Extra points if CTA-accessible.)
ETA#2: Thanks for all of the suggestions!!!
Thanks so much!
If you like to cook at home, where in LA do you like to buy equipment, fun ingredients, cookbooks, and other home cooking supplies?
After years working in restaurants, I recently launched a hand wash for home cooks (it uses bread yeast enzymes to neutralize food odors), and I’m looking for retailers to pitch. Have only lived in LA for a few months so your recommendations could really help. Thanks!
I just moved to my first ever own place, which means I finally have a kitchen! I love to cook. And I know essentially what I need to get to have an amazing kitchen, but I just have no idea which store to go to and obtain everything! Any suggestions for the best?
Im talking pots, pans, silverware, utensils to include lime juicer, spatula, tongs, etc.
Thanks!
Hi Chefs!
I'm an food and cooking obsessive who is currently stuck in the corporate world but cooks for my friends catering company on the weekends to get a hit of some real work! I'm coming to NYC from the UK for work and the leisure at the end of Feb and would love any recommendations on the best kitchen supply shops to visit based on range/value. JB Prince seems to be good but a bit more expensive than others, then there are a good few other options but not sure where to prioritise.
Any recommendation or help would be greatly appreciated!
