So I'm a starter in car modifications (2008 honda accord), and I'm wondering are LEDs strips/lights tarky and if they aren't are they worth it, where would be the best place to be them
Edit- I decided to get some cheap leds and see if they are good or whatever
I rode in a Civic Uber last night. The guy had a decent setup and told me about it. I thought the light wires ran under the seats, etc. Then it plugged into the USB under the radio? This is about the level of effort I would be looking to put in, if anyone has something they like.

What is the best brand? Anything to look out for?
I see a ton of stuff out there, but not sure what I should grab, or avoid.
Thanks very much in advance.
p.s. 2017 GX460 Premium over here.
All the LED lights I installed on my car last year had failed. Where can I buy some decent LED lights, that aren’t way overpriced. Thanks
I’m looking to buy one of those ambient/mood led lights for my car. Everything I find is one that you plug into the cig lighter.
Any of you know of a good one that is usb powered, has an app and a remote??
Looking for recommendations for interior lights on my 2024 GT as well as any tips you may have for installation
If you’re looking for something like the side wall lights and want to control the colors/brightness, I highly recommend the govee ambient lighting kit. I made a video as a guide on how I installed it, took me like 30 min and it’s super cheap. Hope it helps! https://youtu.be/MxOeoyQd27Y?si=n58HEHfUX0W4H4Nq
Interior lights like ambient lighting and foot lights? Or do you mean the overhead lights?
A bulb went out and I wanna replace them all with LED.
I’m looking to add some interior lighting in my car, but don’t want to make the mistake of buying a cheap kit, any suggestions?
Are there any good recommendations for interior LED bulbs? I want to swap mine out for brighter light and lower power draw. My wife's car has them and I like the way they look.
I hate how dim the interior lights are in my 2021 TR OR. I've used VLEDs in the past but their kits are on backorder (and twice the cost of Amazon).
Anyone try and have good luck with using Amazon LED kits? Any horror stories?
I really want to install ambient lighting to my 2013 Acura ILX and get it to look somewhat like this: https://www.flickr.com/photos/theacphotography/16033940826/in/photostream/
or at least this: http://www.9thgencivic.com/forum/attachments/lighting/9169d1342659619-diy-better-interior-ambient-lighting-imageuploadedbyautoguide1342659615.906906.jpg
Most of the kits I've been finding come with 4 strips, which would work great if I only wanted to illuminate the footwells or the underseat area. But I also want to put lighting in more visible areas like under the hood of the dashboard, in the cupholders, and maybe some on the doors, but I don't know how to do that without having there be an ugly visible LED strip.
I'm totally confused as to what kind of products I should get for this type of setup and I'm not even sure if it's possible unless it's factory made. Whatever I get, I plan on installing it myself to get the positioning right, and then taking it to a mechanic so that the wiring won't be visible.
If anybody can help me with out with what kind of kits/products I should buy, I would really appreciate it. I'm looking for pink lighting primarily, but would prefer to be able to change the color. Also, I don't care if the lights flash or pulse along with music, but it would be a bonus if that setting was available.
Thanks in advance!
Put them in my Mazda CX-5 because it's all the rage right now. And I like upgrading shit. Turns out: I don't like them. A good word for the light they produce: stark. Cold would be another good word. It's like an operating room, but not in a good way. I replaced the front and while reading the manual to replace the rears I noticed it wasn't as easy to read the pages. Because: stark. We don't really read in our cars so big deal, right? Still...
Before anyone asks: yes, I got the right ones. They are white, not blue.
Those warm factory incandescents are going back in soon.
Am I alone? I feel I must be because I've never seen anyone say this.
There's way too many options out there and I don't know where to start. I just need my interior lights to be long lasting, bright and reliable. I'll be wiring them to switches at the side and read doors of my van.
What do you guys use and where did you get them?
I got these: https://www.amazon.com/SUPERNIGHT-Waterproof-300LEDs-Changing-Flexible/dp/B00DTOAWZ2/ref=pd_sim_267_2?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_i=B00DTOAWZ2&pd_rd_r=TYE278B5D6CVA7PBTQ84&pd_rd_w=mHO46&pd_rd_wg=afNG2&psc=1&refRID=TYE278B5D6CVA7PBTQ84

I like the push-on "hockey puck" lights. I have one mounted by the door and one mounted by the bed. Three bucks each, IIRC.
I use rechargeable AAA batteries in them.
I was thinking of getting some of those LED light strips from Autozone that go in your car and plug in to the cigarette lighter. Does anyone have any pros or cons regarding these LED strips? Any reasons why I shouldn't get them? I think they look really cool and I like the way you can change the color and patterns.
If you like them that is all that matters! When I got my Fiesta ST it had the led strips you could change the colors on and I thought it was awesome for a day or two then I just left them off - that would be the only downside but that was just me.
I installed some footwell LED strips on my car, and just leave them on to red 100% of the time. They are wired directly to the car and the dome lights so they turn white when I open the doors. All of my interior lights are red (steering wheel buttons, climate control, radio, etc) so it matches.
Pros: Helps me see if I drop anything at night
Cons: Can MAYBE get in trouble with an officer if you ever pulled over and they see the red? I can easily change the color though
Hey guys, I just got a 2024 Toyota Corolla with a white exterior and black interior. I was looking at LED strips specifically for my car and my friend recommended me the Govee ones. So I was looking them up but I wanted some other recommendations from more people.
Pricing shouldn’t be a terrible issue as long as it’s not over $100 USD or so, but I’d prefer something with good customizable options, easy to set up, and looks good. Also if a diffuser is needed please recommend me some.
Thank you 😁😁😁

I have a 2005 Chrysler PT Cruiser. A lot of people dislike this car, but that makes me like it even more. All making fun aside... Could anyone savvy let me know if these ones will work in the Cruiser? Or post links to some that will? There are some drop down selections on the add the cart area, and I don't know what I'd have to select for those, for my car.

As someone who loves driving more than anything and has driven a wide selection of cars I can honestly say the PT Cruiser is in my top three most fun cars I've driven. I don't say fastest, or best. Just the most fun.
People always give me crap for it but I loved my Cruiser. The only thing comparable that I've had more fun in is my MK4 GTI.
Anyways, the LED lights should work fine. I also found a nice set at Autozone you might be interested in.
Also, my top three fun cars in case anyone cares.

Eww how expensive. You can get away with like twenty bucks if you buy some cheap strip, wires, ring-connectors, double-sided tape and have access to soldering tools and just connect all that to a terminal that supplies 12V when the car is on.
I'm guessing you want something like this. All you need for that is:
-
LED strip (choose your favourite, single colored or RGB for full color spectrum)
-
0.25-0.5m2 wire
-
preferably an inline fuse or fused connection
-
some connectors to make plugging to a terminal easier, ring-connectors if you have bolt-terminals available
-
a soldering iron to connect the wire to the poles of the strip
-
VHB or similar double-sided tape to keep the strip in place
-
basic electical circuit skills, seriously, they teach these circuits in primary school
-
a multimeter is suggested
I'm looking to replace pretty much all the bulbs with LEDs but can't find a reliable source and brand other than Philips who just sells Halogen for that model and that's for just Headlights and not totally convinced they actually fit the Car.
