Tried saving money on a Lightning cable and learned the hard way. After a couple months, my iPhone started rejecting it with the usual “Accessory Not Supported” message. The cable also warmed up during use—not ideal.
I’m looking for safe and reliable cables that don’t cost $20+ each. Are there third-party brands that are actually worth it and certified (like MFi)?

Yeah I had the same issue with cheap cables—totally not worth it. 😩 I've had much better luck sticking with MFi-certified ones. For example: Anker – solid build, never had a problem Belkin – a bit pricier but reliable ORIWHIZ – surprisingly good for the price, picked one up a few months ago and it's still working great UGREEN – also worth checking out Honestly, just make sure it's got the MFi logo and you’ll save yourself a headache.

I bought one of the Apple Lightning to USB-C cables so I could connect my iPhone 14 Pro to one of the front ports of my M4 Pro mini. And it's cheaper than the Apple adapter listed right below that. Not sure why anyone would want a $28 adapter when a 3 foot $16 cable does the same thing.
