I really hate to be that guy but I haven't had any issues with keychron at all - and I love my keychron board. By all means look for other alternatives first but I wouldn't totally write them off based on a biased sample size. You don't see so many posts about postitve support even though it happens because people are less likely to post about it in an online forum when there issue has been fixed. No one is going to make a post that just says "My keychron hasn't broken yet." I see the cherry board that first sprang to my mind has also been linked - so I'd recommend that for you if possible. I tried both 515 and 915 logitech and they are terrible, they feel and sound very cheap, returned them immediately. Dont know about asus tho... I ended up getting a Keychron q3 max, check it out. More on reddit.com

If Nuphy is no problem for the budget then go for it :) it's one of the decent board for a low profile variant. Hello! I’ve been looking for a gaming keyboard for my desk. Any recommendations, suggestions, or opinions are welcome. Thank you very much! :)
📌Minimal Requirements
Budget: Around $200 USD (give or take)
Full RGB support
White keyboard (for my desk color palette)
At least 65%, but TKL or 100% will be my best option
Linear or tactile switch + the quieter the better (I have other people living in the house)
USB-C port for charging/connecting
Low profile! (duh)
✨Extra Preference
Hot swappable switches/keys are a plus
Weight doesn’t matter, it will be sitting on my desk 24/7
Shine-through keycaps are a plus
Primarily used for gaming, but great typing experience is a HUGE plus
Having 1000Hz polling rate or more is a plus
Wired/wireless doesn’t matter, but wireless is more preferred
Mechanical keys preferred

Quite new to mechanical keyboards / custom keyboards
Frequent laptop/apple keys user, switching to low profile keys after 9 months of high profile use (don’t like arm/wrist rests as well)
Relatively light typist, does a lot of typing/translation work
Causal gamer, plays various games from FPS to RPGs
Familiar with linear switches (silent ones too), don’t prefer clicky noise
Interested in using tactile switch (never used one before)
Small hands, short arms
If there are also cheap alternatives that can be used with white shine-through keycaps, I’m also open for those options. I also don’t mind all the little bells and whistles (knobs, buttons etc.) as long as it fits all the preferences that are listed above.

I tried both 515 and 915 logitech and they are terrible, they feel and sound very cheap, returned them immediately. Dont know about asus tho... I ended up getting a Keychron q3 max, check it out.

don’t like arm/wrist rests as well My physio got all sarcastic at me about my wrist rest and convinced me to stop using it and instead hold my hand over the keyboard like I was playing a piano, and it has made all the difference.

I'm a super fan of low-profile keyboards and find it would be interested to me if there is a good ultra-low-profile mechanical keyboard available on the market.
I noticed that Keychron planned to start one as Keychron R1: Keychron R1, and I'm sure that Nuphy will provide a better product if Nuphy is to produce one. I would be very interested in such product by Nuphy.

I know it’s cliche and not as hip as some of the other brands but I’ve been through so many mechanical keyboards and for me the Logitech G915 nails it. It’s the best low profile mechanical I’ve found. There’s various options for keys and I own both the tactile (brown Cherry-ish) and clicky (blue Cherry-ish). I’ve been coding and gaming for years and the tactile one is just perfect for both, IMO. It’s very close in feel to my full-sized key Das Keyboard which is my 3rd fav. The clicky 915 would be my actual favorite but it’s clicky enough to annoy me after a while when coding. They’re a bit pricey but the build quality is excellent and even though G-Hub sucks you only really need it once to configure your light settings, etc. and update the firmware and then you can uninstall it. I have the Das and two very nice WASD boards sitting in my closet and the G915 is still my go-to.
