My personal feeling is that “cooling” sheets are a farce. They don’t cool, they just wick up your sweat after you get hot. You’re better off with natural materials. Either 100% percale cotton, or linen. Your mattress pad also matters a lot. Anything waterproof or plastic lined is going to make you sweat like crazy if you’re a hot sleeper. Try to get 100% cotton mattress pad, it will also sleep cooler than anything with artificial fill or fiber. It will also run you around $200 depending on size as well, unfortunately, but it’s worth it. I’d say more important than the sheets even. Same with your blanket or comforter. More on reddit.com

Pottery barn has great sheets that I have recommended before. Not cheap, but mine have lasted 4 years so far and they have only gotten better with time. Mine are 400 count percale, but last time I looked they also had some 300 count organic cotton percale sheets that felt really nice. The dreaded time is on the horizon.... summer! 🫠
I have tried expensive bamboo Rayyon sheets. I have tried 300 count sateen weave cotton and I woke up drenched like someone threw a bucket of water on me.
I need the absolute coldest sheets known to man! Something where I won't cook to death while sleeping. Is 100% cotton really the best way to go? Because the cotton sheets I tried didn't help and stayed damp for hours.
Do I also have to replace my mattress pad with something else to help? Right now it's just a thin style of mattress pad, nothing big or thick. Any advice is greatly appreciated to help me survive the approaching hell!

I’m ready to invest in sheets that make me feel like I’m sleeping in a 5 star hotel (king bed, budget up to $500 for a fitted sheet and regular sheet). We’re hot sleepers in a southern state so I know this probably vetoes some fabrics. I’m not looking for cooling sheets by any means- just something that doesn’t add to the 500 degree heat my husbands body radiates lol.
We currently have a linen duvet that I love, but I’d prefer sheets that don’t require special care and can be washed with normal detergent so linen sheets are likely not an option. I also hate the breaking in process that comes with linen until it softens up.
Any particular brands or thread counts I should be looking at? I know quite literally nothing about bedding!

Idk why everyone is recommending linen, op specifically says they are not looking for linen sheets. I’d recommend a cotton percale, for that budget you can get something really really nice, particularly if you shop around. I’d still buy some specialty fine linen detergent, if you’re spending $500 on sheets you should take care of them so they last a long time, not beat them up with Tide or w/e. Sferra, Matouk, Hudson Parks top-end lines, SDH, amalia home, home treasures, there are tons of companies that make high end cotton percales. Just go browse on https://www.finelinens.com/ , don’t forget to reach out to companies or that website for fabric swatches first if you aren’t sure what you want. I will note that in my experience the swatches manufacturers send out are bigger than the swatches that finelinens.com sends out (which are pretty small honestly), and imo it’s a little easier to get the feel of the fabric from a slightly larger swatch
