How do you clean a manual coffee grinder?
In most cases, you’ll have to take your grinder apart to give it a proper cleaning. Follow your manual’s disassembly process and use a brush to remove the old coffee. Don’t use water. The frequency of cleaning depends on variables like how often you make coffee. We recommend brushing your burrs when you switch between different beans.
What are the differences between a manual and electric coffee grinder?
While there are always exceptions, manual grinders are usually quieter, smaller and more lightweight than electric grinders. Since manual grinders are cheaper, investing $100 in a handheld grinder should also get you a more consistent grind than a similarly priced electric machine, but excellent grinders exist in both categories.
What are the differences between blade and burr grinders?
If you shop for an electric grinder, you’ll find some models that use toothed burrs and others that use a metal blade. Blade grinders are panned in the specialty coffee world because they often aren’t adjustable and can’t produce a uniform grind, which is why we recommend choosing a burr grinder. Luckily, all hand grinders use burrs.

Hi. I am a happy owner of a 1zpresso K Max multi purpose grinder.
I used to have great times using it with moka, french press and aeropress.
But after a while I have bought a good espresso machine and I am mostly drinking espresso.
Sadly, because the huge steps between clicks, it's difficult to dial in some beans so I am looking for the best manual grinder for espresso only.
Researching a bit I have found that one of the best is the 1zpresso J-Max and another excellent one is the Kinu M47 (Classic or Simplicity).
Some youtube videos says that the Kinu is a bit better and J Max goes into the 2nd place.
The thing is, J Max is 169 Euro in my country while the Kinu is almost 300 EUR.
So... is worth the difference? Are there any other alternative I am not considering?
