Hello I was looking at buying a sub 500$ mattress from amazon. Ive had a really horrible spring mattress from a camper I was given for free that has very much run its course, I am quite frankly done with the pain in the back of my neck/lower head that it is causing. Sleeping on a sunken in thing is a bit unsatisfying.
Some questions that may help:
What position(s) do you sleep in? If multiple, share roughly how much you use each (e.g. 75 back/25 stomach) - I sleep roughly 75% back and 25% left or right side.
What is your height and weight? - 6'0ft / 270lbs
Do you sleep alone, co-sleep with a partner, or something else? - Alone most of the time but sometimes with my partner when they are visiting.
What size are you looking for? - King or California King
What firmness do you prefer on a scale from 1-10, where 1 is super soft and 10 is a plank? - This is a difficult question. I like to have enough firmness to have support but I also want the bed to feel cozy and comfortable in softness.
Do you prefer feeling like you sleep "on" your mattress, or "in" it?? - I would say a good mixture of both here tbh.
Do you sleep hot, cold, or in-between? - I do like things cool as I am a fairly warm person.
I need a queen size mattress for an adjustable bed. It won't be used too often so I don't want to spend more than about $300. It can be foam. Do we have a favorite cheap mattress on Amazon?

not anything super cheap but not anything over $900-1000 either
I am in the market for a higher end soft mattress but not really sure where to go for shopping. My budget is close to $1,000+ and I’m trying to figure out if it is worth it to shop directly on Amazon?
Amazon makes it so easy to find mattresses but I am worried about not being able to test it out before I purchase.
What would you suggest? Are there great sites that you trust for high quality (soft) mattresses to go with? Open to suggestions here
I don’t want to have to go through the process of picking out a new bed for at least 5 years or longer (any and all help is appreciated)
I got a pretty big Amazon gift card and I was wondering if it was worth trying to find a mattress on Amazon. I’ve read the list on here of mattresses to avoid and most if not all of the brands I was looking at getting are on there 🙃 bonus points if you can link an unbiased review of the mattress!
Just got my own place and rent is super tight as I’m living alone and in college. I need to save money but also want to have a comfortable/quality mattress. I’m getting a bed frame that doesn’t include a box spring so I was thinking about getting a 12 inch mattress that’s a hybrid/softer side. Not sure what to go with as I don’t want to feel the bed frame beneath the mattress. Especially if I have someone over if you know what I mean. Any recommendations?
I’m looking for a full mattress: any recommendations from Amazon? Or any other shipped in box mattresses that are a good, affordable price?
I don’t want to support Amazon but I need a mattress by tomorrow (very last minute move) and don’t expect a mattress to have to last a million years because it’s not our forever home.
My bf and I are both mostly side sleepers (he also sleeps on his back sometimes). Weight 180/130 lbs. Tested some mattresses and my bf enjoyed the feel of the Stearns and Foster Lux Hybrid but need something more affordable. We wanted to purchase from Costco but it will arrive too late. Thank you!!
Hey Guys! Looking for something comfy for my bad back. Suggest me some good mattresses.
Can I get something amazing for less than $600?
Thanks
I don’t know what’s the best under $600 but I was in the same boat as you and I ordered a Brooklyn Bowery since seeing their 25% off came out to $558 with tax for me.
It won’t be here for another 10 days I think. I can let you know in 2-3 weeks how it is after using it. It’s really for the guest room though and not every day use.
Other brands on amazon might have fiberglass in them and I wanted to stay away from that.
I was also looking at Allswell Hybrid which Consumer Reports rated pretty well. In the end after doing a lot of research, it seems like Brooklyn Bedding makes decent/good stuff from what I read and decided to get that.
Got myself a Lucid 14inch memory foam a year ago and still really happy with it.
I am looking to spend up to $300 on a queen mattress on Amazon. Does anyone have any suggestions?
Hello I can't afford an expensive matress but amazon has them for $150-300. Why are these mattresses so cheap. Are they crap? Does anyone have a cheap mattress they ended up loving? The one Im looking at is hybrid, with coils, 4.3 stars. From Amztree.
Haven’t checked my points in over 2 years…what’s the best queen size mattress for around 5-600 usd that I can get on prime? I live in the NJ area if that makes a difference. Not a picky guy but I do get sweaty so something that helps with that would be ideal. Other than that I have 0 idea what’s a good brand or where to even start. Thanks in advance for the help
I'm not sure if my back pain is due to my mattress, but I started to feel the springs, it's too old and I want to replace it. I've been browsing on Amazon for a week now, but I can't decide which mattress is right for me. I’m 5'6, weigh 136 lbs, and a back sleeper. Do you have any recommendations?
I moved into a new apartment with no bed and furniture but my first priority is finding a mattress to sleep on since i have no car since i can"t drive because im disabled but have amazon prime can some one please help and point me out to a decent queen size mattress on amazon for a decent price around the 200-230 budget?
Hey all! I’m looking for a cheap mattress from Amazon, one of those roll ones. I’m a college grad moving for my job and I’m not taking my current mattress with, so and I’m looking for a cheap new one (preferably 300-400 or less). I’m not entirely sure what kind of mattress my current one is but I think it’s medium firm? Ive read that the Zinus gel green tea mattress is good, but i’ve also seen reviews saying it doesn’t inflate all the way and some people ended up tossing it out. If anyone’s gotten a mattress from Amazon, do tell please. Thanks guys!
From what I’ve read you should steer clear of Zinus mattresses. I’ve read they break down pretty quickly. Lucid seems like a better option in that low price range.
My buddy slept on a Sleep Innovations Shiloh 12" for years. He got married 6 years ago, and bought a new Shiloh in 14". His old one was given to his brother. Both are still being used.
BUT - neither my buddy, his wife, or his brother have back problems, neck problems, they are all fairly short and light, and have narrow shoulders. So... none of them need good support or contouring. Your mileage may vary.
Just took our new to us camper out for the first trip and the mattress definitely needs to be upgraded. Anyone have any luck with any of the Amazon or other cheaper brands? I'm looking to keep it under $300 for a short queen since we're just doing weekend trips and not full timers.
Amazon reviews are usually pretty unreliable so looking for some ideas.
my wife and I are mattress shopping currently. it seems like when we finally find a mattress we like, the internet, and reddit in particular, give us a thousand reasons to get the hell away from it. so, are there any brands anyone can actually recommend?
edit:Thanks for all the responses. much to consider now
I've been looking for a mattress for my guest room and I just happened to be on Amazon and did a search out of curiosity.
They have some pretty cheap mattresses on the app, whether it's cheap in price or quality I don't know.
I'm just wondering if anyone has actually found/bought a mattress off of Amazon and were pleasantly surprised by the quality.
I have a Zinus and it’s caused significant back pain. Hard as a rock and does not soften over time. I’ve been sleeping on an air mattress for the last couple months and that is far more comfortable.
You get what you pay for with those. Could be comfy, but not for long. You’ll be buying another most likely in a year or two. Depends though some at better than others. But pretty much any queen size for under >$300 is a very temporary solution. Not really worth the money IMO. But if that’s all you have it’ll get you by and give you time to save up.
Been awhile since this has been asked. I am getting a new place and want to get a mattress off amazon. Anyone have suggestions? I move a lot so memory foam is what I am thinking but there are a lot brands.
Tuft and Needle. Best mattress I've ever slept on.
I have a Zinus memory foam mattress and I like it so far.
The good:
-
It was inexpensive, under $300
-
It is pretty comfortable. I have a chronic hip problem and so far this is the best sleep I've had since injuring myself
-
Check back with me in August, but last week it was 80 degrees, I don't have my AC installed for the summer yet, and it didn't feel super hot like memory foam mattresses tend to do
The okay:
-
I should have gone with the version that had the thickest layer of support foam, not the pillowtop version (which still has more support foam than many Zinus models...definitely do your research on this before you buy anything). It's fine for now, but I do notice a slight lack of support when I'm on my side, and I think it will wear out more quickly than the more supportive mattress
-
You really sink into this thing, which is great for sleeping, but there is kind of a learning curve with regard to sex. Again, the more supportive version of the mattress may make a difference here
The bad:
-
I've had it for about three months and it is still dominating the smellscape of my apartment...I don't notice it all the time like I did the first week or two, but when I come home after being out for awhile it's like "yup, still smells like mattress." I live in a studio that doesn't have a ton of ventilation, so YMMV. I should point out that it doesn't smell toxic or make me feel dizzy or sick, it just has a non-neutral odor
