Best mop for tile and hardwood?
I go for two stages - vacuum (or sweep) first to get the lumps and hair up, then a microfibre e-cloth mop that you use damp rather than dripping wet.
Edit: isn’t perfect though so am interested in other solutions too.

Our main living area is hard wood while the kitchen is 12 inch square white textured tile. I have tried string mops, sponge mops and the Hoover floor mate, plus stupid swiffers. What is the best mop or system to clean the floors? We have 3 dogs and 2 teens, so our floors are always gross. Thanks!!!

Ok, I recognize that I’m going to sound like a paid shill here but I promise I’m not.
I saw and ordered a Moppsy mop after I saw it on FB or Instagram or something (I know, I know). It looked pretty good and the reviews were mixed, but it had the opportunity for a return and it looked like what I needed. It was pricey, and maybe I should have bought a cheaper version off Amazon, but here I was.
It arrived yesterday and holy crap, it works SO WELL. It has a microfiber, machine washable, reusable mophead (it came with six) and it really gets the floor clean. I was dubious since it reuses the same water but so far, so good.
It feels a little cheap for the price ($60) and it was smaller than I pictured but it works so well I’m keeping it unless something goes wrong in the next couple of weeks. Here’s a picture of the line where I stopped and the packing with scale (sorry, all out of bananas!) I last cleaned the floor (yes, it was overdue but still) with a Swiffer WetJet and this is from the Moppsy with a splash of Hoover Multi-floor Plus in the wash water. I’m convinced. (This is solid hardwood with a standard polyurethane coating)
I'm a cleaning dummy. Like, I'm good at a lot of other things but not at cleaning. Lol
My kitchen and bathroom are tile, and I usually just use the Swiffer wet mop deal but it's becoming obvious that they need a deeper clean. I have essentially zero storage for cleaning supplies (broom and Swiffer are stuffed in the air handler closet).
So, if you could only choose ONE mop, what would it be? Bonus points for links.
Hi everyone,
So I use a Swiffer (which I know everyone doesn't like lol) with a microfiber cloth that I used with floor cleaner solution. However, it irks me not knowing if I should get an actual mop or if I can just to continue to use what I use. The floors I clean are tile and some sort of vinyl apartment flooring. I know I don't need anything industrial, but I would like to know if what I am using is good or not! I appreciate all feedback, thank you!
