I think if you're a guy and you don't like shopping, you should pick a brand you like and stick with it, because generally everything they make works together. J. Crew is a great example. I've bought things from Biden, which I think is English. Banana Republic. Bonobos. This is very basic office/sharp casual. Answer from altbat on reddit.com

r/malefashionadvice on Reddit: Any good places to shop instead of ZARA and H&M?
October 10, 2024 -

I'm trying to expand my fashion right now as my usual style is usually some sort of baggy jeans/cargos a shirt and Jordans. Now I'm trying to make more smart casual outfits just for variety.

I usually shop at ZARA H&M and Uniqlo. However I noticed that outside if jeans the quality in ZARA is not very good and overpriced.

I'm looking for a place to buy clothes for the office but with a more smart casual look. I'm also looking for statement peices like cardigans and jumpers(sweaters) and quater zips.

My collection of smart shirts and trousers (pants) is already very good. I prefer clothes with no logo by the way. I don't really like wearing clothes with big brands

Edit: thanks for all the replies and I my budget would be under or around £80-£90 for a piece of clothing.

This may have already been asked but thought this can get bumped up again with some updates or new finds.

Looking to refresh my wardrobe with some stylish yet affordable options. Wanting to find places that cater to a mix of styles, such as business casual, streetwear, and urban looks.

I normally would shop at H&M, ASOS, Uniqlo and ZARA (not necessarily affordable) and looking for suggestions of other stores or brands that won’t break the bank but still have great quality and design.

December 5, 2024 -

l usually shop at places like Target, Old Navy, Kohl's, but I'm tired of everything looking cheap and misshapen after just a few wears (or even immediately). So I threw out most of my clothes to start over.

I just got a couple shirts and a pair of shorts from ASRV and on first impression, the quality seems much better. The fabric feels more premium and the overall construction feels more solid.

I need more clothes like this. Things that are well made, comfortable, and intentional. Not really looking for name recognition or anything. Just brands that have good t-shirts, shorts, jeans, and the occasional polo. I am a bigger guy (losing weight though), so I need brands that make at least XL, but preferably 2X.

Also I do value brands that are focused on sustainability and ethically sourced materials and labor.

July 12, 2008 - Where does one source clothes like this? Thrifting sucks in my area and for my size (small) and it's hard to avoid temu dropshippers and find real stuff that isn't 600 for a single coat.

September 3, 2009 - I've parsed low, medium, and high-end clothing stores for something actually durable enough to last 15+ years with regular use--I imagined that more expensive brands might in some way justify their prices with proportionally better materials and construction, but the price-quality divide actually seems to grow with expensive pieces.

September 15, 2021 - I think the fit is the most important part so I would go to a mall and try on a couple of jeans/shirts/coats from different stores and see what store has the best fit. Lulu lemon makes good pants that fit me well so I go with them ... Bonobos. They are especially nice since they have so many different cuts of the same items. ... Why online? Nice clothes need to fit well. And label sizes don’t mean much. If you really want to look nice, you’ll save a lot of time just going to the store and trying on a bunch of things. And you’ll help your local economy by buying local. ... Men’s Wearhouse for church and business.

r/malefashionadvice on Reddit: Where to Shop for Affordable, Quality Menswear in 2025?
June 15, 2025 -

I have been thinking of updating my wardrobe, but I cannot name many retailers that offer decent quality menswear at reasonable prices. Reiss, Sandro, and A.P.C. have come to mind, but I am not too familiar and have not purchased from them before. How is their quality?

What stores would you all recommend? If possible, I don’t want to spend more than $200 on a polo shirt, and not more than $350 on a blazer.

October 4, 2017 - But Timeworn Clothing and Freewheelers are favorites as well and have a little more variety. ... One brick and mortar I really like is Standard and Strange and I’ve bought more than a few things there at full price. Otherwise besides the same online shops everybody else mentions, I like Epaulet.
