I’ve finally moved into my own place in Culver City and I have zero furniture, like literally nothing at all except an air mattress, so I need to basically buy everything for my apartment.
I’m trying to strike the right balance between decent quality furniture that looks nice and lasts a while but I also can’t afford to break the bank buying super expensive stuff.
To give you an idea, I went to IKEA which I know is relatively affordable, but I hated everything there which I felt looked really basic and cheap, but was definitely in my price range. Then I went to West Elm and loved all their stuff but my jaw dropped when I saw the couch I liked was $2600, something I definitely can’t afford.
Basically, I guess I’m looking for somewhere that’s in between IKEA and West Elm in terms of price and quality.
Is there any furniture store you know of in LA that has nice furniture for a comparatively cheaper price?

Hi future neighbors.
I'm planning a move to LA in the next few months (Dec most likely) and want to start thinking ahead about getting myself settled. I'm moving back to the US from abroad, relocating for work and to be closer to family. Unfortunately, until I find a place in LA, I can't really think too far ahead, however, I would like to at least know where I can find some decent furniture pieces so I'm not making dumb, frantic decisions when I do sign on an apt.
So I am wondering if you have any recommendations on good furniture shops (online is also ok) I can start to research that won't cost an arm and a leg?
My preferred style hovers around modern, Midcentury/Scandinavian to contemporary. I know this is a wide gap, but think clean lines and neutral/monochromatic tones. Minimal without being clinically sterile (no plastic/cardboard Ikea furniture).
I remember buying my bed frame from overstock back when I lived in NY, a mattress from Sleepys, etc., and everything else from Ikea. But I don't know if those places are even still popular or recommended.
Extra points for where I can find a lightly used, and well-loved Eames Lounge Chair, or a pair of Marcel Breuer Wassily Chairs.
For the record, 35yr Male in Finance.
Thanks in advance for your help!
