The best open-ear headphones for 2026 vary based on specific needs, but several models stand out across different categories. For overall performance and sound quality, the Shokz OpenFit 2+ are highly recommended, offering excellent sound, secure fit, long battery life, and strong call clarity, making them ideal for runners and active users. The Shokz OpenFit Pro, reviewed just days ago, delivers the best open-ear sound to date with advanced noise reduction and Dolby Atmos support, though they are not fully optimized for all environments.
For users seeking a premium clip-on design with top-tier audio, the Bose Ultra Open Earbuds are considered the best-sounding open earbuds available, praised for their clear and detailed sound, spatial audio, and comfortable fit, despite their high price. They are especially recommended for Apple users who want a seamless experience with AirPods 4 with ANC, which offer impressive noise cancellation in an open-ear design and are easy to recommend for Apple ecosystem users.
For budget-conscious buyers, the Huawei FreeArc and SoundPEATS PearlClip Pro are top picks, offering strong sound quality and comfort at lower price points. The SoundPEATS PearlClip Pro is particularly noted for its value at around $50, with great sound, comfortable fit, and solid call quality. The Xiaomi OpenWear Stereo Pro and Baseus Inspire XC1 are also highlighted as strong affordable options.
For those prioritizing durability and outdoor use, the Shokz OpenFit 2+ and OpenRun Pro series are known for their stability during intense movement and resistance to sweat and rain. The soundcore Aerofits 2 Pro stands out with dual-mode ANC, allowing users to switch between open-ear and shallow in-ear noise cancellation, combining situational awareness with reduced background noise.
In summary, the Shokz OpenFit 2+ and OpenFit Pro lead in performance and innovation, the Bose Ultra Open Earbuds are best for premium sound and design, while the Huawei FreeArc and SoundPEATS PearlClip Pro offer excellent value.

UPDATE: ordered the OpenRun Pro Mini! Thanks everyone!
Looking for recommendations on some open ear/bone conduction headphones for running safely. Tired of having to use just one AirPod.
Would like them to obviously be comfortable and stable with keeping in place and not cutting out while hopping around with impact (I have somewhat smaller features) and with a single charge lasting at the very least 3 hours.
I can google that but I’d rather have recs from some of you with experience!
TIA!
