Can anyone recommend open world RPGs on PC that involve really great exploration? One of the reasons I love the Elder Scrolls games so much is the ability to just pick a direction and run, and you always know you’ll stumble upon something interesting - be it fun side quests, hidden dungeons, etc - there’s a big open world with tons of shit to explore. I would really love to find more games that replicate that. Any recommendations? Thanks!

I’m just forever going to recommend Kingdom Come: Deliverance when someone asks for an open world game. It’s incredibly immersive, the world feels alive and the people in it genuinely react to your actions/behaviour in the world. You won’t find much in the way of typical dungeons here but there are lots of interesting places to discover, people to meet, quests to embark on and enemies to kill. Edit: Also for those that really want to get sucked into the game, I highly recommend Hardcore mode, it’s not that much more difficult but it is more immersive.

Has anybody got any suggestions for a openworld, 3rd Person, Fantasy RPG?
I've played Witcher 3, Dragons Dogma, Kingdoms of Amulur, all Dragon Ages, Breath of the Wild and Skyrim.
Really looking for that fantasy exploration and solid 3rd person combat.

I've been looking for PC games to play since I've gone through most of what I already have. I'm wondering if any of you have any suggestions for open world rpgs with tons of exploration (I play completionist) and a great story?
I've finished Red Dead Redemption 2, The Witcher Trilogy, Assassin's Creed Valhalla, Assassin's Creed Odyssey, GTA V, Subnautica, Mass Effect Trilogy (not really open world but great story otherwise)
No specific genre in mind!
((Bonus points if I could spend hundreds of hours playing it lmao))

Morrowind. It’s just so WEIRD and different. Feels like a totally unique place. And the opening theme is legendary. And while they’re not technically open world because of the technical limitations of the game engines, the Baldur’s Gate and Baldur’s Gate 2 have to be up there for me. Still sublime experiences 20+ years later.

Im a bit biased (and unoriginal lol) here because it is the first RPG ever I decided to try back in the 2011, but still Skyrim and other Elder Scrolls games are the best open world experiences for me, in large part due to the ability to completely ignore the main quest and instead focus on your own objectives and goals - add to that hundreds of mods which add stuff from new items to completely new quest lines When it comes to just immersing myself in an open world and creating my own story it’s still the best option for me
