I'm on the hunt for some new games to dive into on my Xbox, and I'd love your recommendations! I'm a big fan of open-world story games, and one of my all-time favorites has been Assassin's Creed Valhalla.
Here's a list of the games I currently have on my Xbox:
Assassin's Creed Valhalla
Starfield
Dead Island 2
Fortnite
Roblox
Minecraft
Based on these preferences, what games do you think I should check out next? I'm open to any suggestions and would love to hear about your personal favorites. Thanks in advance for the recommendations!

Within the last few months Iโve played RDR2, The Witcher 3, Far Cry 3-6 & Hogwarts Legacy and Iโve loved them all.
Are there any other recommendations of games with the same vibe? All opinions welcome!
I'm looking for great large open world games that have satisfying stealth and combat, and reward exploration.
But the world must have lots to do and discover, not just be a large map with bugger all in it.
Games I've loved for this:
Horizon Zero Dawn (Forbidden West to a lesser degree)
The Witcher 3
CyberPunk 2077
Assassins Creed (specifically, Origins, Black Flag, Odyssey, and (somewhat) Valhalla)
Some of the Far Cry games, but they just became ultra-formulaic and lost their shin (plus, Ubisoft launcher nonsense))
Star Wars Outlaws (hit and miss here, but still fun)
Skyrim (in fact all of the Elder Scrolls games)
Other stuff I have already played:
Fallout Series
RDR2 โ I can't seem to get far into it for some reason.
Games on the "do not recommend" list:
MGSV โ I found it dull and unappealing.
Death Stranding โ an awful experience.
No Man's Sky โ an empty, soul-destroying journey through nothingness.
Soulslikes โ I'm old and just don't have the chops them.
What other games like those games I've loved, mentioned above, would you recommend?
Let me know what is great (and not so great) about your recommendation
Thanks!
Edit to add: I don't own a console โ PC games only please.
Edit to add:
If I've mentioned that I don't like a particular game, but you do, it's not a personal attack - I just didn't have the same positive experience with that game that you did. Downvoting the post for that seems... silly.
Edit to add:
Thank you to everyone for some great suggestions. Clear leaders seem to be Ghost of Tsushima, Ghost Recon: Wildlands, Kindgom Come Deliverance 1 & 2, and *shudder* Elden Ring.
Despite my thoughts about Soulslikes, in the face of popular opinion (and a couple of posts that make me think my thoughts about it may not be accurate) I will try Elden Ring if I can find it on sale. There are also several games recommended that I already own, but never got round to โ so thanks for the reminders to clear my backlog before moaning about having nothing to play ๐
Iโm looking for a new game to play, and would like suggestions for a good open world game, ideally FPS but third person is okay I guess. My recent favourites have been FO76 and the Far Cry series, and for third person I enjoyed Velheim (although more the survival aspects, not so much the monsters).
I do want to play Fallout 4 but am waiting for the rumoured next gen upgrade.
Ideally something open world or at least a very large map so I can sink some hours into the game.
I prefer my weapons to be guns, not swords etc.
Bonus if it is on GamePass or not too expensive ๐
Thanks for any suggestions!
I have Fallout 3, NV, 4, and Elder scrolls (Skyrim, ESO, and Oblivion) and I have gotten pretty bored with a few (all with and without mods) and I loved the open world/survival aspect so I was wondering if there was any that some people could recommend.
EDIT: Typos and I've also played Kingdom Come: Deliverance, Borderlands 2,Terraria, Minecraft, (if you count it) roblox, Shadow of War and Mordor, Don't starve.
