I bought a steering wheel a few months back and I've been really enjoying Grand Turismo 7 and Dirt 2.0...
Now I would like something a bit diffrent. Something similar to Forza Horizon where I can drive on normal streets and have some open world experience.
What games would you suggest?

I’ve been pleasantly surprised by how well the crew motorfest works on my gt dd pro (8nm). Feels pretty natural, decent force feedback, generally works well! Also tried the crew 2 in the past but couldn’t get that to feel good at all so big upgrade!

If you play Spotify and load Gran Turismo 7, the game will automatically disable the in-game music for you. Some epic tracks and wonderful scenery.

Forza Horizon 5 is a great game to zone out and have casual drives or races, highly recommend. The world they created is beautiful.

Whether you are on pc or console, use controller or a 10000$ cockpit there shouldn't be any gatekeeping as long as we talk racing games. To get back to your topic, there isn't much to get your hands on. The only answer you got is probably the only option. I personally quickly lose interest in the crew games as the open world is pretty dull and is really not set up for cruising. There is a Dakar game with a huge ass map but terrain is pretty much the same all around so it gets boring real quick. If you don't necessarily need a wheel support, your best option on console is gta V Hopefully someday Assetto corsa evo releases on console and you'll get what you desire

I haven’t pulled the trigger yet, but The Crew Motorsport is on trial depending on the level of PlayStation Plus that you have, and it’s currently on sale for $22 USD. The reason(s) I haven’t bought it yet is: Ubisoft can be weird with their DLCs. I loathe season passes. It’s likely to end up as a PS+ monthly game or on the Premium+ tier of PS+, this is also related to point one. But from what I played, it was a pretty decent game. For the price, it’s the closest we’ll get until there’s further confirmation that Microsoft intends to port over first party titles like Forza. I also wouldn’t touch Need For Speed or Test Drive. I hope that you find some good, mindless fun, my friend.
