Hi neighbors! I’m looking to refresh my yard we’ve had for the last 10 years and would love some help from anyone with a green thumb — or even those who’ve just found some tried & true favs in this area 😊
I’m looking for low-maintenance plants, shrubs, and flowers that can handle our Maryland seasons and still bring some life throughout the year.Easy-care options or Year round or seasonal blooms
I’d love to hear what’s worked in your gardens and if you have any favorite flowers that keep blooming or come back strong each year, I’m all ears!
Thanks so much in advance . I’m excited to learn from you all and bring a little more beauty to the neighborhood and my yard I’ve neglected that’s needed some love over the years !
This raised bed is in front of our house, north-facing. Due to that and the overhang of the house, it gets no direct sunlight. Some awful pansies clearly planted for photos were there when we moved in, and I tried planting some shade-loving perennial plants last year (hostas, astilbes, can’t remember what else) but nothing took. Literally just weeds grow, and even they don’t look happy. I’d love to plant something that has year-round interest since the planter is so large and plain. Also open to edibles or something useful. It is in front of a large window so nothing too tall or light blocking. We are located in the Puget Sound region of PNW. Do we put grow lights on the porch? Just tear the whole thing out? Any help appreciated!
I’m looking for recommendations for a non-invasive, hardy and low maintenance plant that doesn’t need a lot of sun and can grow in a container. Any ideas?
