Question/brainstorming here.
I'm an ex-BJ's member... we moved and now it's much farther away than Costco which is basically across the street. I've been in there once, briefly, to take a peak, and to be honest I was a bit lost.
At BJ's I used to get these 3lbd packs of ground turkey for about $10. I typically use 2 of those per 7 days, or 4 per my bimonthly shopping trip, for $40. Is there something similar at Costco I should aim for?

Any objections to pork? Shoulder is always cheap. You could grind it yourself or stick the thing in a giant pot and have shredded pork to match your shredded thighs.

Costco. Don't get their ground beef from the cooler section. Knock on the window and ask the butcher if they have a chub of ground beef. They sell it in a huge tube for less than the packages in the cooler. You'll have to portion it out and freeze what you can but it's a great value

I've been purchasing the 93% lean packs from Costco but they haven't had them in a few weeks now. Wondering if anyone has recommendations where I can buy Bulk lean ground beef.
My family usually goes through about 4lbs a week so not opposed to large amounts (I have the freezer space)

I’m not bullshitting you, but if you go through ground beef a lot or beef in general, start looking for someone that you can partner with to buy a whole cow. If you prefer the leaner ground beef, you can get it made that way. I grind my own and typically do 90/10 ish. Quality and flavor blows every store bought item out of the water. Plus no ammonia spray on your meat. I’d offer a spot to you, but I’m at capacity for next year already. Make friends with a farmer. Even a hobby farmer like myself. Get your shit fresher, higher quality, and cheaper than bulk Costco or other grocery. If you happen to find a spot and they won’t do 90/10 or leaner grinds, ask to get the grind meat and do it yourself. It’s a fair amount of work, but worth it. So worth it.
