Im wanting to build a new gaming computer and it feels like the only options are to do it online by myself or buy a pre built bit pre builds have so many issues I want to avoid it if possible.
EDIT: Hey Everyone I ended up going with VIPCBuilder Thank you all for your recommendations. Memory express and Canada Computers were great options too but VIPCbuilder felt like what NCIX used to be.
Anywhere to buy/pick up a gaming pc in store? From what I’ve seen it really only seems to be Best Buy or Canada Computers, everything else seems very overpriced or just online order/delivery. For delivery I don’t feel very comfortable spending $2500+ when my schedule doesn’t allow me to be home when it arrives except on weekends and my building isn’t really great for expensive/large items to be delivered.
Best buy seems to be mostly subpar power source or cheap power supplies or parts. Canada Computers on college street was fine when I bought my last pc 4-5 years ago despite spending $3200 to get a system with faulty RAM that had to be replaced and having to initialize one of the hard drives myself despite them saying it was all in working order.
My last few visits there were dismal and I don’t want to give them my business. One visit I was completely ignored by employees chatting behind the counter or wandering away to the back, another time being sold faulty monitor and having to pull teeth to refund/exchange.
Most recently phoning to inquire about a machine listed online and being told that the power source listed 150w below recommended for the video card listed was “a misprint”, spending an hour getting there just to have them check in front of to confirm it wasn’t a misprint but was designed that way to only work with that system, then trying to bring it up for me to buy. Pretty much mislead just to get me there to make a sale.
