How can I ship furniture I sell online?
Many online marketplaces provide different shipping options. For example, Chairish provides parcel delivery options through carriers such as UPS, FedEx, and DHL. eBay also works with different carriers, including USPS, FedEx, UPS, DHL, OnTrac, and more. Note that Facebook Marketplace doesn't allow you to ship furniture, and OfferUp allows shipping only if the item weighs under 20 pounds and costs less than $2,000.
Can you make money reselling used furniture?
Yes, it could be profitable, especially if you live in a populated area. Having access to loads of local potential buyers is key for many types of businesses, but it makes even more sense with large items that could cost a lot to ship. However, people might be willing to pay shipping costs if you deal with unique or vintage furniture.
How should I prepare my used furniture before selling it?
It's essential to clean your used furniture and try to make it look as nice as possible. It's also important to take good photos of your items for listings. This could reduce the chance that a buyer might back out of a deal if they don't think an item looks like it's in good condition.
Depending on the type of furniture, you might want to vacuum or steam clean it, as well as spot clean if there are any noticeable stains.

I am moving out of Chicago in a few weeks and need to sell some of the things that i can’t take with me. I’m posting my stuff on Facebook marketplace, but it doesn’t seem to be getting a lot of traction… wondering if there are any apps or websites that you guys have used to sell your things before. Thanks! ✌️♥️
I'm moving to a fully furnished place next month and will only be taking the essentials with me. I hope to sell most/all of my furniture over the coming weeks. What are the best forums/places to do this?
I have had several people recommend Facebook marketplace (as you can fairly easily vet potential buyers/sellers for potential scams and other red flags) however, I don't have a Facebook and I feel like creating one where I have few photos and no friends defeats the purpose of the trusted seller benefit.
The only other places I even know of would be craigslist or reddit (though I don't know which specific subs) and neither of which I have experience selling or buying things on. Any advice on where I should list the items and what to expect? Also, how fast should I expect to sell items (rough estimate) assuming some things I will prefer to keep until as late as possible (ie my bed)?
I am in the process of moving and want to list some of my furniture to sell, locally only.
Facebook marketplace is…very Facebook…and I was wondering if there were other, better alternatives.
TIA!
