August 30, 2025 - I’ve been rather satisfied with the UI, usability, and Android app as well. Besides, maybe the albums I complained were missing will return eventually? (EDIT: Said albums are still missing from TIDAL over a year later.) However, for most people looking for a Spotify alternative, I would have to say Deezer would likely satisfy most people’s use cases and needs, especially if podcast playback is a must.

December 29, 2023 - Podcast Addict for me. Only quibble is that it's almost too feature-rich and it takes a little time to familarize and customize. The app developer is very active with regards to updating and responding to reviews in Google Play. It's free with ad support, but I gladly throw $10/yr at it for ad-free.

The AntennaPod application itself does not contain ads. If a publisher chooses to add ads to the media files, they get 100% of the revenue. With AntennaPod, you can download episodes and listen anywhere. You can even select podcasts that should be downloaded automatically.

Sometimes the simplest thing is truly the best and this is definitely true for me with this podcast app.

November 27, 2023 - I’ve been using the Google podcast app for years and it’s been great (except for a few bumps here and there.) Now, it’s going to be shut down and they want people to move to YouTube podcast or some other app. I’ve tried Spotify and Youtube and both are a mess and confusing compared to the Google app which is fairly simple and straightforward.
