Sure, I'll play. I'm just one guy. I listen to a ton of stuff from pretty wide topics. I try a lot of shows out and give up on a lot of stuff I've listened to for a long time and try to keep track of my favorites. Funniest Podcast: The Grawlix Saves The World -- The Grawlix comedy trio of Ben Roy, Adam Cayton-Holland, and Andrew Overdahl (Those Who Can't) challenge each other to self-improvement activities and report back on how it goes. It's three funny friends goofing with each other. Classic podcast material. Best limited series: Trail Weight: Podcast producer Andrew Steven sets out to hike the John Muir Trail and finds life has other plans. Most Informative: Blowback Season 2: Examination of the history of the Cuban Revolution and its repercussions during the Cold War without the "Russia bad/America good" predisposition. Best new show: A Good Cry: Comedy writer Michael Cruz Kayne talks to other funny people about tragedy, death and grief. Just because, Here's what I marked as favorite episodes this year: Why You Mad - Why You Alone w/ Brett Payne (5/20/21) Bad Faith Episode 81 - Listen, Lab Leak with Thomas Frank (6/16/21) This Naked Mind Episode 400 - Are there normal drinkers? (7/10/21) Why You Mad - Why You Single with Peter McGraw (8/11/21) REI's Wild Ideas Worth Living - Finding Bigfoot with Cliff Barackman (10/19/21) Beautiful/Anonymous 292 - Crisis Hotline Worker (11/8/21) Ologies - Dolorology (Pain) With Rachel Zoffness (11/10/21) A Good Cry - Jon Gabrus (11/11/21) Citations Needed 150 - How Economic Jargon and Cliches Make Cruel, Anti-Poor Policies Sound Sterile and Science-y (12/1/21)

Maintenance Phase by Aubrey Gordon and Michael Hobbes has been my far and away favorite discovery of this year. The hosts have great chemistry and storytelling power, and the episodes have challenged me to look at health, fitness and diet culture (things I’m normally not at all interested in ever thinking about - power of a good podcast) from a completely different angle.
