Trying to find the best 1000w power supply for my build, I know 1000w is a bit overkill but I’d like a future proof it in case I need to upgrade.
The main one I’m looking on is be quiet dark power 13 1000w BN661 since it seems to get high ratings from anywhere I look, but I would love to hear some suggestions. Any insight would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

new build or upgrade?

here's my build. It's strickly for gaming. I've purchased everything but the cpu and psu. Any suggestions on a decent power suppy? ive been using that SPL list and finally switched to the phantom (A rated) but some bad reviews on newegg. But it seems every PSU I find for like sub $200 that is 1000w seem to have several bad reviews on them. started with montech century then the lian li edge but read several "stop working after x months" posts and that just scares me off after spending so much on parts.

Looking for best 1000W PSU for gaming.
Cost isn't a concern open to all recommendations.
Here are 4 I considered the most, I also would welcome other suplies if you know better ones 🤗
-
Super Flower LEADEX VII XG 1000 W 80+ Gold
-
Thermaltake Toughpower GF3 TT Premium 1000 W 80+ Gold
-
Corsair RM1000e (2023) 1000 W 80+ Gold
-
MSI A1000G PCIE5 1000 W 80+ Gold
Ty for your help!
I'm upgrading my PC and need a new power supply. I haven't really stayed up to date on anything new in the power supply market since I originally built my PC. I'd prefer it to be at least 80+ Gold and modular. Thanks in advance.
The EVGA G6 is really good and it's 139,99$ sold by Amazon (if you're in the US)
Rm1000x was used by Linus during the whole wattage spike debacle with a few gpu’s, so I would think that is a solid option. They are about $189 at Best Buy. More expensive than the G6, but I would think that they are much better quality overall.
I’m doing an upgrade next month, and I’m changing my power supply. I’m looking at the 1000W units to make some rooms for future upgrades.
I’m really in-between the good 850W units as well, for now these caught my eye and I can’t really decide which one to get, here they’re:
-
Montech TITAN Gold 1000W
-
FSP Hydro G Pro 1000W
-
Seasonic GX-Focus 1000W
-
SuperFlower Leadex VII XG 850W
-
Corsair RM850x Shift
I doubt I’ll ever use an 90 series card, the most real GPU upgrade for me I can see a 4080 super for example, for now I use 3060 ti. But still I want to make sure my new PSU will support future upgrades so I would love to hear some recommendations! Thanks in advance
Long story short I'm building a new gaming pc with a 12700k and 3080ti and have 2 power supplies on hand. Which is best?
EVGA 1000w G6 - have heard there are issues with fan ramping up and down under load
be quiet! Dark Power 12 1000w - no known issues?
My PC stopped working last night, and upon further inspection, it was my PSU that was dead. I bought the PC from the marketplace, so I don't have any chance of getting warranty support, and a brand-new model would cost me around $200-240. Are there any alternative PSUs that I can buy that deliver the same performance and are reputable?
Dead PSU: Corsair RM1000x shift
Ryzen 9 5900x
EVGA 3080 ti FTW3
64 GB 3600Hz DDR4
and a Corsair 5000D airflow case
This feels more difficult than it used to be.
Between the ltt PSU tier list, atx 3.0 and the new ratings 80plus/cybernetics there's a lot to consider. I saw a jonny guru interview with gn recently where he said the tier list is getting better, but still no substitute for actually reading the reviews. Except, thorough reviews are currently few and far between, especially for atx 3.
Case in point: I want to buy a new power supply, and I think it should be about 1000w. I have a 3090, 5900x, 7 fans and 2 d5 pumps. I don't want the PSU maxed out with the fan on full, I want it to be passive or low, and hitting that efficiency peak in the middle of its capacity.
Reading about the new atx 3 standard, I don't need the new 12VHPWR connector for a 3090, but it may be useful for the future. Atx 3 looks to be overbuilt, and apparently handles large power excursions much better also, and the 3090 does that.
The best atx 3 roundup I've found is this one: HW Busters
It seems to suggest the asus rog supply is best of the atx 3 bunch, but doesnt include the be quiet DP13. I think the new asus supplies are essentially rebadged seasonic prime units... ive heard.
So, what are you all doing? Are you spending more on atx 3.0? Or are you putting the cash into a higher capacity or higher quality atx 2 psu? If so, what are you getting?
I’m gonna be running a 13700K paired with a RTX 4080 and for cooling, the arctic liquid freezer 2 360. I’ll also be running 7 case fans (3 from lian li and the rest Arctic f12)
Been doing some research but haven't reached a conclusion yet.
The ones that have attracted me the most are the Hydro Ti Pro, Dark Power 13 and HX/HXi series from Corsair.
Is there any other PSU I should take into account? I'd say I prefer a dual 8 pin connector over the 12+4, but it isn't a dealbreaker for me. If anything, I want it to be either Plat or Titanium rating; not willing to go lower.
Thanks in advance!
Looking to upgrade from my 750 watt and could use some recommendations

my usage is about 80% gaming 20% video editing, but I plan on ramping up the video creation until it's maybe 60/40 or 50/50.
Just looking for a nice 1000w PSU for plenty of headroom. Was looking at corsair but they have like 3 revisions at the 1000w level. Technically I'm well under budget but I'm not trying to spend every penny I have, around 200 would be nice if I could get good value.
Greetings everyone,
so I have been running into issues with my build, which I have narrowed down to my PSU. Problem I'm facing is that the PSU is shutting down during gaming. Not sure if it is peak load, transient load, current issue, or something totally different.
My PC is a i5 13600K on a MSI Z690-A Pro DDR4 paired with a MSI RTX 3080 Ventus 3X. All powered by a Seasonic Focus Gold+ 850W from around 2018. None of the components are under/overclocked.
I have looked for replacements and would like something stronger, that also can deal with more demand should I upgrade in the future again, so that's why I've been looking at 1000W PSUs. My current picks are the "be quiet! STRAIGHT POWER11 CM 1000W" and the "DeepCool PQ1000M 1000W", but I wanted some input on what is preferable or if there are other suggestions. Edit: I have also picked up the "EVGA SuperNOVA 1000 G6" and "Corsair RM1000X (2021)" as possible options.
I have set myself an ideal budget of about 200€ with the only wishes for the PSU being modular and efficent at lower consumptions. But given I haven't looked into anything PSU related for years, I would like some help.
Thank you and have a nice day!
The be quiet is the better option
Seasonic Focus Gold+ 850W from around 2018
Yeah, those were infamous for poor transient spikes handling pre-2019, and the 3080 and above were infamous for those transient spikes. A bad combo.
There's this famous PSU tier list. Anything from tier A would be best. Looks like all of your options are tier A units, though, so you're in luck here.
Depending on what case you have, you may also wish to either pick a PSU without semi-passive cooling or one that can be turned off (like those Seasonics).
I pay very much attention to fan noise, thank you for the help!
The quietest 1000W PSU that got a noise certification is the Asus Rog Thor Platinum II with a cybernetics test of 11.39db. but it's unreasonably expensive.
Be Quiet Dark Power Pro 12 (1200W, 16.5dB) & Corsair RM1000i (<20 dB) are considered quiet too. But at 1000W no PSU will be absolutely quiet since that's quite some power to cool.
Seasonic Prime Ultra Titanium is rated for 13db. The prime TX is tested for 25db.
All these are excellent PSUs.
Keep in mind that's maximum load figures. Unless you got a full custom loop with a MoRa, GPU and CPU will most likely overshadow any PSU noise at that draw. Also PSU noise isn't linear, some are much quieter until 75-80% load.
Seasonic 1000w prime ultra
I am assembling a high end PC, I have already bought the r9 9950x3d processor and I have an AMD 7900xtx xfx video card. I am behind good font options and imagine that a 1000W is essential for the PC to work with energy efficiency. Which current brands are good in the market and pay more than 1000 reais for them?
Looking for the best 1000w PSU for my PC build I'm currently doing.
My gaming pc has a 1000w power supply, which is very likely overkill for the 5800x3D and RTX 4080. I would like to protect it from issues with a UPS but the biggest consumer grade UPS I’ve found shows max power for 900w. I don’t know enough about them to know if I’d have issues putting the PC and monitor on it if it ever peaks over 900w of usage. Any insights?
