They're like $10-15 on Amazon, just buy one that has a lot of reviews. There isn't much too them, I own several cheapo ones and they all work just fine. Not sure if it'll provide much info for you though, the testers are more of a "good or bad" thing, it's not going to tell you anything in between. I suspect my Power Supply is failing. Can you provide some context to what your issues are or why you think it's the PSU? Answer from -UserRemoved- on reddit.com

r/buildapc on Reddit: Any recommendations for a PSU tester?
May 16, 2025 -
I suspect my Power Supply is failing. Rather than pay a repair shop to test, I'd prefer to buy a tester and have it available for the future. Does anyone have experience and recommendations on which unit to go for?

Being well trained on a multi tester and an oscilloscope is the way. The plug and play ones? I'm not too sure on how much I buy into them unless they have a data port and can link to my digital test station. Otherwise, they're just multimeters that have a designated plug. A decent multimeter is relatively inexpensive in the world of testing, and can be useful in other areas too. Most PSU manufacturers will give you an output schematic for testing with a multimeter if you ask nicely.

October 30, 2023 - Have searched OCUK for PSU testers and nothing came up so posting link!! https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B07B52X5R2/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 · Click to expand... Yeah i got one of those too, many years old as well ... While those things are a nice safety check to prevent anything being fried, as they put no actual load on the supply passing doesn't mean any given PSU is actually good - just not fatally bad!

July 21, 2017 - I don't think there is really anything out there that can truly test a PSU outside of expensive pro setups. A marginal PSU can test good with those cheap testers. For the hobbyist, the only probative way to check for PSU issues is to have a "known good" unit on hand to swap in. The testers only show if the PSU powers up and can handle a tiny load.
