Crash team racing remaster is a remake of one of the best kart racers ever, adds a lot of stuff from the sequel (while removing some gimmicks so it still feels like the og game), and soem completely new tracks, characters, etc. The first game was my first childhood game, so definitely family friendly and also has potential for a decently high skill ceiling so it’s engaging as an adult too. Hey, as the title says, I'd really like a racing games with good graphics that I can just sit on a couch with a friend with and play split screen, none of that online stuff. GT7 split screen sucks from what I've heard, but feel free to correct me on that. What are some recommendations?

Hot Wheels is rather underrated if you just want to have some fun with friends, especially friends who aren’t too serious about gaming.

GT7 split screen is indeed limited but a common complaint is the lack of car selection which can be improved by adding your garage cars to favourites (press the triangle button in the garage cars list menu), which in turn adds them to the split screen car selection menu. Very strange that they don't directly mention this method in the game.

I have some kids visiting me for the weekend and I thought I’ll download some racing games which they can play split-screen on the PS5. However, I can’t find a single decent game on PS Plus Extra.
Hotshot Racing and Trackmania Turbo are the only ones I could find. Both have really bad graphics and feel like they’re games from 20 years ago.
Any recommendations for better games in this genre available on PS Plus Extra?
