I came across an app that taught Python last year but can’t seem to recall the name of it anymore. So can anyone suggest an app which you have used to learn and practice coding at the same time with inbuilt exercises? I wouldn’t mind even if it’s subscription based. As long as it’s value for money.

r/learnpython on Reddit: Apps for learning Python
January 13, 2018 -

Hi all,

I’m a newbie to Python, and I’ve spent a while going through resources on codeacademy to learn some basics of Python. I’m still far from being able to even call myself a beginner, but I really want to try and learn Python and 2/3 other programming languages.

Does anyone have app suggestions that can help learning Python on the move? I spend around 2.5 hours daily on trains, so it would be a very productive use of my time if I could actually do something useful rather than stare out the window. I have seen a few on AppStore, but although they’re rated well I’m not sure how good they are from a true Python POV.

Moreover, since I’m new to programming I can’t really tell how comprehensive codeacademy is. I have seen the Udemy course “Automate the boring stuff with Python” which was free on reddit but unfortunately I missed the chance! Are there any other web resources/books that I should use to help improve myself?

I would be willing to spend some money but only if codeacademy really is useless - I’m a student at the moment so I really don’t have the free funds, and I’m trying to gain additional skills. If codeacademy is good enough for the moment, I’ll be using that and perhaps later buying some resources I can use to improve further.

Thank you!
