Looking for recommendations on battery operated strip LED lights for cabinets
While you might be able to find some battery-powered LED strip lights, I doubt there are any made that are Wifi controlled, because the Wifi would have to remain connected to the router to be able to receive commands and that would take way too much power! There are a few Wifi magnetic contact sensors available but they don't remain connected to the router all the time; they only connect when the sensor triggers. And because they are not contently connected to the router they first have to negotiate a connection which can take up to 10 seconds to complete. Not ideal for a sensor, but better than nothing, I suppose! More on reddit.com

You might be able to roll your own with a suitable smart LED strip, run from a decent sized power bank with either 5V or 12V output, then a battery powered motion sensor Both using Zigbee would be the best power efficiency, but you'd then likely need a hub too if you don't already. Pretty much the title. I could, hypothetically, hard wire them but I really prefer not to for a couple of reasons, unless the general consensus is that the battery operated LED lights are just truly not worth it.
My goals are to simply install the strip lights under and above the kitchen cabinets. Ideally, they would also be able to connect with my Google Home ecosystem.
Just wondering what the community thinks are the best options for this scenario.

Depends entirely on the amount of light and how much it will be used and your tolerance for changing batteries. A closet where the light comes on for a few seconds a couple of times per day, yeah, no problem. Kitchen accent lights that will be on for several hours every evening, have fun changing batteries every other day. Then there is the environmental impact of disposable batteries. Just bite the bullet and hardwire it. It will be much cheaper in the long run.

Is there such a thing ?
I have a solid granite backsplash taking all the space between countertop and cabinets, and I really don't want to drill into my kitchen cabinets to wire lights.
Are there any smart LED lights that I could recharge weekly and then have them working 3-4 hours a day, turned on with either an automation shortcut or motion sensor ?

not smart, but i have a few of these guys in my kitchen, and they are pretty great. Motion sensor that turns it on for 20 seconds when its dark as you walk by. And if you swipe your hand over it, it goes brighter and stays on till you hand swipe it off. If you hold your hand under it, it changes brightness to your desired level. I don't use them 3 hours a day or anything, but if i had to guess, i get like 20-25 hours of continual use, which for me is like 6 or 8 weeks?
