I work for a web development and marketing agency and it’s time to get me a new laptop. I spend most of my time in the Wordpress dashboard and in cpanel. Just wondering which years are most problematic and which year for MacBook Pro I should try to shoot for.

The ones you should keep an eye out for at this point would really be any MacBook with an M Series chip. Avoid any of the ones listed below as they all had the Butterfly Keyboard that had some issues. Avoid any year prior to 2020. Intel Macs must be avoided at all cost. Any Mac with a M-Series will be night and day beauty.
I want to buy a refurbished 2018 MacBook Pro 15 (base specs). Am I stupid?
I would look at an M1 / M2 MacBook Air. Should be about the same price, more power, longer software support.
