A while ago, I bought a Z97i gaming ACK from ebay and it turned up without an I/O shield or WiFi antennas. I contacted MSI, hoping they could offer low cost replacements, but to my surprise, they were happy to replace the parts free-of-charge!
A few days ago, I purchased a Z270 PC Mate (also, pre-owned) and found myself in the same situation. Once again, I contacted MSI, hoping for a similar outcome. However, it would seem they now charge €23.37 for an I/O shield. Don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining about them charging for replacement parts as it's not their responsibility. I likely just got lucky last time, but almost €25 for such a small part seems a bit excessive, no?
Can anyone think of a cheaper way to replace the I/O shield? There doesn't seem to be anyone selling them on ebay. Where else can I look?

I just saw a post on r/hardwareswapuk where someone is printing a sort of mesh IO shield where you cut out the ports yourself for £4, maybe you can find someone similar for us or he may even post for extra.

Hi all,
I recently moved country and just rebuilt my PC. Unfortunately in the move I lost my motherboard IO.
My PC is currently up and running but ID rather have a replacement shield installed
Does anyone know where I could buy a replacement online? as I'm finding it difficult to find one.
Actions I have already taken:
Google search by Product name and ID
Search through local online stores and Amazon
Contacted ASRock to ask if they have a system for replacement parts
Other Info:
Living in Switzerland
Bought from Amazon in Ireland (hence the move)

I contacted ASrock global customer support, they shipped me a replacement from the Netherlands.
Price was 15 euro including shipping
Customer support were quite helpful and the entire process was straightforward.

Most IO shields are unique to the motherboard. So it's likely you will have to contact ASUS to get another. Hopefully for something as cheap as an IO shield they'd just send it no questions asked.
I've gotta say though, I've never heard or or done it myself. Well now I've heard of anyway.

Certainly, as long as it has the little bent fingers to touch the shields on all the ports. Personally I hate those stupid fingers. So damned hard to navigate the motherboard down onto the standoff and all those fingers out of the connectors (USB I'm looking at you). I like the IO shields on ASUS's upper end boards. They use a foam padded conductive cloth, no stupid little metal fingers to worry about.

So about 2 years ago I had to RMA an MSI Tomahawk B350 motherboard because it couldn't work with my Ryzen 3 processor. I was sent back a X470 Gaming Pro motherboard, no complaints, but it didn't have an IO shield. I'm getting ready to rebuild my PC and I just remembered that I didn't have an IO shield. Should I just contact MSI and ask to buy one? Or are there faster methods to obtain one outside of buying a new mobo?

Bought a graphics card and motherboard off someone that was originally from the Levono Legion Tower 7i. The mobo didn’t come with an IO shield so now my pc literally just has an open gap in the back. Am I able to buy an IO shield anywhere?

Your best bet is one of the above, which you just cut out around the ports that actually exist on the board, and it will provide some RF/EMI protection.

Usually you could reach out to the manufacturer with mixed success, but I doubt Lenovo could be bothered. Your best bet is to get the seller to send it, or just deal with it. It's on the back so you wouldn't really even see it unless you've got a floating desk.

Ask your sister for a leg nylon (do girls still wear these? Dang I'm old!) . Take the nylon (or any fabric like this that will stop bugs and dust from getting thru) then just duck tape it to your case . Now punch small hole where the output connectors should come thru the IO Shield.
