We're staying in Centraal, close to the red light district. Happy to walk 10-15 minutes. Nothing specific necessary aside from a full bar would be nice, and nice ambiance. And we do love tapas style places, but that's not a must.
Hi, I arrived in Amsterdam today with my gf. We have walked around throughout the day visiting the sex museum and a few bars.
One thing we noticed was a lack of restaurants yet an exorbitant amount of fast food places (kebab shops, takeaway noodles, burger bar ect) why is this? The few restaurant looking places we have seen have been extortionate in price. Are there any recommendations for solid tasty restaurants that won’t require me to take out another student loan?
Is there any popular bars/pubs around the few we went into off of the red lights district were all empty and quiet. Is the only night life in Amsterdam coffee shops? We would like to go to a few bars/pubs so the cheaper side would be preferred as we are both newly graduated and are here to celebrate.
Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated.
Thank you!
