I recently moved up north after being spoiled by all the amazing spots in the city, and although I still drive down frequently for things like Mr Oso, Leven, Angelo’s etc, I’m looking for some heaters up north.
I’ll start this off by sharing the two go-to spots I’ve got (cause y’all need to know too!).
-Spice Of India - on 120th and Pecos, seriously excellent, everything on the menu, it’s worth the drive up from the city. I’m weak for their lamb korma, love their mulligatawny soup, i can never choose what to get.
-Lazy Dog- on 144th, it’s a sports bar, but their menu is actually super high quality, and diverse. Their Thai Noodles are honestly better than any pad Thai I’ve had, their pot roast is like home cookin, pb&J burger is fun, the fried deviled eggs and lettuce wraps are great apps. I’m always pleased with their food (and they stay open late!).
Help me add a couple more gems in the north Denver area!

El Trompito is one of my favorite taquerias. It actually has an expansive menu that goes well beyond tacos. It’s at 72nd and US36 The Old Man is a solid bar with really good smoked chicken wings. Sheridan and 120th roughly. Pho Duy is tops tier pho, and solid for many other Vietnamese dishes. GQBBQ does it right and they’re up that way

"Tavernetta is one of my favorite spots in Denver and the pasta is always a highlight. The doppio ravioli was fresh and so beautiful, with each side of the pasta offering a different burst of flavor. It was such a fun and unique dish. We also tried a steak entrée and the pancetta e melone. The melon dish had a texture that was not quite my favorite, though I could see why others enjoyed it. Our server was incredibly helpful and talked us through new dishes, wine, and what the standouts were. Tavernetta is consistently excellent and I will definitely be back."

Thank Sool Pocha: Late Night Korean (like go after 10:30pm) Sap Sua: Hip Vietnamese with some seriously tasty food and great service. Annette: Nice Quaint New American Traveling Mercies: Cocktail Bar and Seafood (best shrimp cocktail and wedge salad ever) Lucina: Latin American with plenty of Vegetarian Options keep in mind the space is a little lively! Yuan Wonton: Dumpling Lunch! Best menu I think is on Fridays. The noodles and congee is so good! Xiquita: Newest Mexican Restaurant with hard-core CDMX (Mexico City) vibes. Damn tasty and their HH is one of the best I've had in the city. House made tortillas and masas are 🤌🏾 MAKFam: Hip Chinese with very cool street market vibes. Food is killer! NiTuyo: the warmest service and great for families. Delicious Mexican food. The molcajetes are 🔥 Olivia: Amazing pasta and service. Santos Cafe : Family owned brunch spot with delicious chilaquiles Alma Fonda Fina: Absolutely fantastic all around. Upscale Mexican and they just got a Michelin star so it is probably hard to get into. Hop Alley: just damn good food. Asian inspired.
