I am looking for recommendations on a good nursing chair. The one we bought unfortunately is a complete lemon and squeeks and clanks when rocking or moving in it. It completely wakes the baby up. Completely frustrating since we spent $2000 dollars on it. It even has a new base added to it, but after a few months it started doing it again. And of course the company we bought it from is now no longer in business so we are SOL.
Hoping to find something comfortable for nursing and rocking the baby to sleep. A recliner isnt a must, but definitely looking for something upholstered.

I literally agonized over the decision for our nursery chair and we ultimately decided on a Lazboy Pinnacle Glider recliner (even after looking at Monte, Dutalier, Pottery Barn etc). Our babe has yet to arrive but I sit in that chair literally every single day and it’s the best, most comfortable chair ever. Definitely not the most aesthetic, but in terms of function - we love it so far.

I know people say get one that reclines, but does it make you fall asleep on it too easily?
What is the benefit of a glider, I’m a bit confused by the purpose of having a chair that glides but doesn’t rock? Does the gliding soothe the baby?

I got a power recliner from pottery barn kids it was very expensive. But it’s nice and matches the rest of our living room furniture so it can be easily blended once we no longer need it for baby. I highly recommend a power recliner because you can easily close it to get up with baby to transfer without the motion of shutting a traditional recliner. Which may wake the baby. I love rocking and reclining with babe. I can’t speak on what a glider is I’m also confused by the difference! It came with functions like lumbar support and a lower night light that we have never needed.

I have a babyletto. I think it’s called a kiwi? It’s a powered glider recliner and I love it. I had a regular glider for my first three kids and upgraded with this last one and I don’t regret it at all! So comfy and nice to have to powered leg rest to get up quietly when baby is asleep

I love my chair, though I think personal proportions and how you like to nurse play a big part. I’m 5’1” and I have the Mandy Swivel Glider , and I love it. I can sit with my feet on the floor and my back supported all at the same time! The arms are low and fairly wide so they work well to comfortably support baby’s body. I don’t like feeling like I’m down inside a box and bumping into walls, which is how I’ve felt in some other chairs I’ve used while out and about. I nurse my newborns in football hold, and when I tuck my boppy around me the armrests are just a nice extension of it, making a good surface to support baby. When they’re bigger, cradle and cross cradle are comfy too. Personally I don’t like laid back nursing, so reclining wasn’t a feature I was interested in, but if you like it then I’d think a recliner would be key. I know it’s really hard to do post-2020, but if you have a store where you can try chairs out I think that’s the very best approach, because everybody’s needs and bodies are so different.
