I have a piano and an 88 key digital piano, but I’m looking for something smaller and lighter than can be carried around more easily than the full size digital piano…which is only “technically portable.”
I’m not playing out…Piano isn’t my main instrument…so I don’t need a lot of bells and whistles. I would really prefer full sized keys. Also, a headphone Jack is essential. I’m thinking 49 keys. Needs to have onboard sound…in other words, I’m not looking for a MIDI controller (unless it happens to have its own sound capabilities…which I’ve heard of but haven’t seen). This is something that my daughter and I can use around the house, or toss in the car without breaking a sweat.
What suggestions do you have for me?

(i've got an FP30, so i can certainly endorse the electronics.) i've got one of these https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08T5LRW89/ (folding 88 key) showing up tomorrow, for travel. i'll try to remember to check back in with an opinion on it after i've had a chance to try it.

As a recommendation, don't get something with less than 61 keys. With 61, you can play most of the music that you'd want to on it. 49 would be few enough that it would get in the way a lot. Personally, I have the Roland Go: Keys. It has a lot of bells and whistles that you don't really need, but the Go: Piano (which doesn't have them) is the same price. The Go comes in at around 9lbs, so it's small and light enough to be easily portable. It's a little pricey compared to the competition (I got a good deal on mine used), so you might also look at models like the Yamaha NP-12 or the Casiotone CTS1, that are both cheaper. All of those models have 61 full-sized, touch sensitive keys, do support headphones, and should also support a pedal if you want to buy one.

I want to learn piano. Unfortunately, I don't have a lot of space in my room and on my desk. So I want to at least buy a mini-keyboard and learn piano basics with it. I also want to get into making loops and electronic music later on, so I guess a keyboard over a "real" piano is the right choice anyway. I know that a mini-keyboard is suboptimal and I can't play all songs with it, but to start off I guess it's enough.
So I looked up a few models and I found the following ones:

Midiplus X3 mini
Midiplus X4 mini
Arturia Keystep
I want to able to play basic chords and easy songs with both hands. Also, it would be nice if I could play without connecting to a PC, then it is easier to just practice and I can't get distracted. Unfortunately, I don't know anything about keyboards. Can you help me to choose one that fits to my needs?

49 keys are not enough for piano learning. At minimum you should get a 61 key keyboard. 88 keys are of course ideal. Also, the keyboards you linked are MIDI controllers. Meaning, they don't produce sound. You will have to connect them to a computer and have a piano VST produce the sound. None of the ones you listed have onboard sounds. They ALL require a computer to function, or at least more hardware. Those are all called "midi" keyboards and they are just a hardware interface for controlling a virtual instrument (on a computer) or another physical instrument (like a synth). Typically if it doesn't have onboard sounds, it will just be called a "Midi controller" but there ARE keyboards that have both. Inconsistent store descriptions can make it harder to see the difference. I would look at something like the Roland GO:Keys for something compact and produces sound. Also check out the Casio CT series. The CT-S1 is much closer to the price of the others you listed. If you find something and aren't sure, feel free to send a DM or reply here.

I do jazz / classical piano & a bit of music production. I have a full 88-key setup I’m happy with.
I’m looking to find something a bit more portable for working out chords/melodies. Think: chilling on couch, traveling. Ideally it’s not just MIDI so I don’t have to always get my computer out.
What recommendations would the hive mind have?

Yamaha Reface CP/YC/CS/DX if you’re okay with 37 mini keys (the best mini keys available though). If you want piano sounds, get a CP; organ = YC, subtractive synth = CS, and FM synth = DX. I have a YC and love it because it is so portable, but playable. The new Roland GO:KEYS 3 or 5 are probably something to check out. I don’t have either, but reviews are super positive, and these are aimed directly at your use case. 61 full-ish sized keys, battery operated, 1000+ Zen-core sounds, and decent built-in speakers.

It’s a little big for couch chilling, but Yamaha CK61 is very capable and fun to play. It has built in speakers that sound okay.
