Hey guys! Looking for some really good earbuds for the gym. Here’s some specs I think are important to me, please recc whatever you think fits best (bonus for tried and tested) -Sweat proof! (i sweat a lot on my face especially, I can’t have them getting waterlogged lol) -Slip proof, basically they can’t fall out of my ear mid rep. I know over ear ones would be the best for these but those tend to feel suffocating while I’m weight training. -Slight noise cancelling. I just wanna mute some surrounding sound, not completely block it out for when I’m running (safety first while running outside!) A good booming bass to really get the blood pumping (some good pump songs would also be welcome hehe)
I have JBLs that fall out all the time. Same with apple airpods. Looking into over the ear options. For running, i am thinking that 'open ear' is safer, esp bc i am running in the city. What ear buds do people like?

I’m trying to upgrade my earbuds specifically for workouts, but I’m honestly struggling to figure out which ones are actually worth it. There are so many choices now, and every review seems to hype a different pair.
What I really want is a pair that stays secure during movement, sounds great, and doesn’t cut out or feel uncomfortable when I’m sweaty. Battery life and durability matter too, since I use them for runs, gym sessions, and long walks.
Some options I keep seeing around are:
Beats Fit Pro
Jaybird Vista 2
Jabra Elite Active 75t
Powerbeats Pro
I have been on the AirPod wave for a while but I feel that they crap out on me quickly and do not stay in my ears while working out. Wanted to see if anyone had an earbud they would recommend? Preferably not with the silicon tips but I am open to any options :)
Hello 👋🏼
I’m in the market for some all rounder earbuds but that can be used for sport too. Mainly weight lifting and indoor bike erg. I have a £100(ish) budget. My earbuds have always fallen out of my ears so good fitment is important.
Thanks 🙏🏻
Looking for high quality sport ear buds.
I've used Jlabs in the past and I really like them. Although I broke one or the buds so now I need a new pair of wireless earbuds that I can use while exercising. I tried my buddies Bose earbuds and the quality is tremendous.
I've seen some reviews for bose not sticking in ear as good as they shoipd for sports. I've seen the beats fit with great reviews for staying in ear. Although I've always loved bose sound and thought beats was a little flashy... Like they pay a lot for advertising and endorsements and you get them to look "cool" so I never really considered getting them. But maybe they are a great option.
What do you think? What other brands or specific sport wireless earbuds would you recommend?
Dear users,
I am a frequent runner and ran for a while with the Jabra Élite active 7. I choose them because i prefer earbuds and because i thought they had the best ANC. Unfortunately they died on me, and I found out jabra stopt production. Hence it is difficult to find a pair.
So that is why I am searching for a new pair. With the following requirements:
inearbuds
best ANC
waterproof (due to sweat)
good battery life for long runs
I'm looking for an all-in-one earphone solution, since I really want to be able to go on runs and train in them as well as have good sound quality and ANC. I has been using these very cheap wireless earphones, which you can't run with and want an upgrade too something which will stay in my ears without falling out. I have been looking at the beats fit pro because I have tried them on before and they haven't fallen out of my ears and I liked the fit overall because it has the small inner hook that works really well. However, they are quite old so I'm wondering if its still worth purchasing them, especially since many new earphones have come out.
Another one I've looked at is the new Google Pixel Buds Pro 2, which looks very good for quality, but I'm having doubts about whether they will stay in no matter what training I'm doing (running, sprinting, etc), and whether the wing that's attached is any good. If anyone has any other recommendations please mention them as well.
I am training for my first marathon and have run two half's so far this year. Now that I'm running distances into the teen-miles and (soon to be) 20's, I'm discovering my current earbuds are causing more headache than they're worth when worn for that long.
I'm currently using the Bose QCII Ultra Buds, which historically have been fine but once I get past mile 8 the sweat overwhelms the touch pads on the side and causes them to go haywire, starting/stopping music and switching ANC modes. I have to stop running, dry them as much as I can on my wet clothes, and then repeat this every 2-3 miles thereafter.
I got the new Powerbeats Pro II's that just came out, but my ears are too small for their hooks and they moved around quite a bit and sounded like crap. I also tried the Soundcore X20, but again my ears were too small for them to sit well and they moved around quite a bit and had to keep readjusting them during runs.
I am considering trying an open ear design, like the Bose Open Ultra's or Soundcore's model, but I'm hesitant because of how much I sweat around my ears that they would stay in place.
But regardless, what do you all use to run with, how does it work for you, any complaints/would you recommend to a friend?
tl;dr - Looking for headphone suggestions for first marathon which is coming up soon, preferably without a touchpad. I am wondering what you all use to run with, and if you'd recommend them to a friend.
Hello guys.
I don't care that much about quality of bass and sound in general, I value solid battery life and good noise canceling and microphone.
I recently lost my Soundcore Liberty 4 and I was quite happy with them.
Now, I might get them again, but I would like maybe to try something else.
I'v been thinking about JBL Live 2 pro. They are currently 99 euros at Amazon.
My budget is around 100 euros, but I don't mind paying extra if there is something better.
Been thinking about Airpods Pro 2 or Beats as I have Iphone and Ipad and I'm quite familiar with Apple ecosystem, but their battery life is quite miserable to others.
Do you have any suggestion? Mind you, I shop in Europe (Germany) so I might not have access to some earbuds for the USA market.
Kind regards
Hello, I'm considering my next earbuds and the most important thing of all for me is a crazy secure fit. I run, I cycle, I workout and always struggled to find something that doesn't fall off. I had great success with JBL reflect flow pro, so I have two pairs of them. They are starting to show their age and after two years of heavy usage, I feel that they won't last much longer. My requirements are noise cancellation and ear fins, not ear hooks. No open design, I don't want outside noise. So far I have failed with Jabra Elite 7 Active, they fall like crazy no matter how hard I tried to fit them and with Bose Sport, the fall less, but they fall, the interface was clunky and after a month the in ear sensor stopped working. I got a replacement, same problem. Looking for some suggestions. Thanks!
I've searched the sub and don't see anything recent on this topic, so I hope this post is okay.
I'm aware that the Shokz Openrun pro is the best pure running earphones but I need something that's a bit more all round. Details below.
Been using the Jabra elite active 75 for the last 3.5 years but the right side earbud no longer produces sound. These earbuds were generally awesome, except for massively amplified wind noise on hearthrough mode. I looked at the latest model (elite active 8) and while it looks great, I want to know what else is out there.
I travel a lot, so something that's comfortable on short flights with ANC is preferred. Especially if I can also use it for virtual meetings and calls. Small form factor case makes it convenient in laptop bag, rather than my full size headset.
My gym is super loud, so open profile or bone conduction headphones are a problem since I often can't hear my own music over gym noise
I'd like hearthrough/environment sounds so that I can hear cars when running on the roads, but without the massively amplified wind noise.
ETA: I don't have an iPhone
I have a certain pair I use for work that work well but they’re just for work. I have recently bought the Beats Studio buds but they’re already crackling and sound like shit (those were purchased April 10th)
Any recommendations? There is no budget and I don’t mind spending good money on something with quality.
I’ve heard a lot of good things about the QC Bose.
Please drop any recommendations you might have.
I'm finally retiring my old, janky earbuds that constantly fall out mid-sprint or die halfway through a long run.
I'm looking for your holy grail recommendations. What earbuds actually stay put through sweat, hills, and serious pace changes?
Budget around $200
I’m trying to find the best wireless earbuds for working out, and I’m tired of hype‑only recommendations. My current buds slip when I sweat, battery dies too fast, and I want something that actually stays in place, sounds great, and survives intense sessions without cutting out.
I’ve seen tons of options thrown around, but I want real opinions from people who actually use them for workouts not just spec sheets.
What are the best wireless earbuds you’ve used for working out, and which ones should I avoid?
I'm looking for a good pair of gym earphones with good ANC, never falls out, and good sound quality.
I was looking at Powerbeats Pro 2, Bose quietcomfort, and Sennheiser sport momentum.
Any suggestions? Price doesn't matter.
Running headphones are for people who prefer their jogging outside and thus need to be able to hear their surroundings to stay safe.
Choosing the best ones for your needs should let you zone out to your favorite playlist or podcast without bouncing around, cutting out, or getting in your way.
A Lexicon of Listening Language for Active Listeners
IP (Ingress Protection) ratings are going to be important. Ingress Protection is directly related to how well or poorly headphones work when impacted by sweat or rain, after all.
Other terms to familiarize yourself with would be ‘wingtips’ and noise cancelling technology. For the tips, allowances are made to the physical design so that they’ll stay put, no matter the workout or the user’s ear shape. Noise cancelling is self-explanatory, with the devices muting ambient sounds so runners and gym rats can stay focused on their fitness playlist, not the sounds of traffic or your gym buddy’s grunting.
Activity-specific material durability is arguably an even greater headache when shopping for sports oriented gear; no one wants a material that’ll crumble after being exposed to salty perspiration for hours on end. Battery life, Bluetooth stability and reliability, all of these factors and more need to line up and be accounted for when researching the best headphones for running and workouts.

Appreciate suggestions for good value, quality sport earbuds with over-ear hooks to hold them in place, primarily for listening to podcasts and music indoors, and sometimes outdoors if they have an awareness mode for preserving 360 hearing for any potential hazards. Don't need the best sound, would be happy with good enough. Water resistant. Under $50 or $40.
Currently have a pair of JLab Go Pop+ wireless earbuds which are fine for indoor use when you're not moving around too much as they don't have an over-ear hook. Sound isn't the best and it isn't the worst, but for $16 they were a steal (regularly $25).
