Best Cordless Stick Vacuum To Buy?
Best cordless and corded stick vacuum for hard floors?
A vacuum will definitely speed up cleaning hard floors and clean them much better than sweeping. People who walk barefoot will instantly notice a difference in vacuuming vs. sweeping.
I'm concerned about cordless options, most 4 Ah batteries provide roughly 15 minutes on high and 30 minutes on medium and then the batteries take 3-4 hrs to recharge. Also many cordless stick vacuums are heavy on the hand/arm because you have to hold all the weight by your hand.
LG CordZero Kompressor $449 is your typical cordless stick vacuum. I like this model because it comes with 2 batteries, 2 powerheads, and a charging stand/wall mount. You can clean a 2-3 bedroom house on medium power with 1 battery. The charger does not have to be wall mounted, you could get an inverter and charge batteries in your car but it takes about 3.5 hrs and charges only 1 battery at a time.
Hoover Onepwr Evolve Pet Elite $329. This is a small upright-style stick vacuum where most of the weight rides on the wheels. No hepa filter on this vacuum but the bin is about twice the size of most cordless stick vacuums. You should get about 30 mins per battery. This package comes with two 4 Ah batteries and a Dust Chaser because the Evolve has no hose or tools.
I think corded is more dependable. You don't have to worry about using it longer at tough cleaning jobs and you don't have to remember to charge batteries.
Simplicity S60 Spiffy $129. This is a corded stick vacuum that only does floors. It has a crevice tool that is practically unusable, it's a pain to take off the floor head and the long handle isn't removable. It has strong suction and no brushroll so it won't get any hair wrap. It's light and narrow with a long 30 ft cord.
Henry HVR160 $399. Henry is the only commercial vacuum here. This vacuum is used often on cruise ships. Henry has the strongest suction here and uses large and cheap hepa bags. Not only does Henry do well on floors but he uses standard 1.25 inch tools with a dusting brush, crevice tool, and upholstery tool included. The HVR160 is the smallest Henry and is the size of other medium-sized canister vacuums, the cord is 26 feet. Henry looks like a wet/dry shop vacuum but he's only a dry indoor vacuum, the thick plastic makes him more durable. He's heavier than he looks, the canister itself weighs 14 lbs which is the same as other medium canister vacuums but it will surprise you because he looks more like a shop vacuum which is usually lighter.
My recommendation is to get a corded canister vacuum like a Henry and pair it with an upright vacuum like a Sebo Dart. Depending on the job, you take one or both vacuums into the house. Their abilities overlap too. Henry can clean rugs and carpets in a pinch, the Sebo Dart can clean carpets, hard floors, and it has a short hose too. That way if there's an issues with either vacuum the other can finish the job.
If you just want something that will revolutionize sweeping and is simple and lightweight start with the Simplicity S60 Spiffy.
Hope that helps.

Looking for a cordless vacuum for our house that is almost all hardwood floors. Some tile in there, and a good amount of rugs. Most important to me is something that won't leave scuff marks on the wood floors, and second that we don't need to switch attachments for the rugs. This will also be our primary vacuum, so something of high quality. Willing to spend what I need to if it's worth it.
Right now I'm leaning towards the dyson v12. It has a hardwood floor attachment, but I don't know if that will work at all on rugs. Is the normal attachment safe for wood? we don't want any micro scratches if possible.
