Looking to get some recommendations on the best credit card for my current situation. I live in Toronto and I recently started travelling a lot so I went all in on Air Canada/Aeroplan and now have accumulated about 175k points between me and my wife. I have an AMEX Aeroplan Reserve (Currently on 2nd year with the card) with an extra card for my wife, and I also have a CapitalOne World Elite MC (1.5% cashback towards travel purchases) and so does my wife.

Paying yearly $599 + $199 for my AMEX + supplemental card and $130 for the Capital One

As I continue to do more travelling, I might be interested in a credit card with good exchange rates as I always use credit card for purchases while travelling.

I plan on cancelling my AMEX at the end of my 2nd year in September, and also want to replace my Mastercard for something with better benefits or exchange rates.

Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated!

I’m looking to get a new credit card that works to help with my travel expenses. I have the scotiabank basic scene card, so I’m not gaining much with this. I travel approximately 2-3 times a year outside of Canada, but typically one of those trips is 3-4 weeks long. At home, most of my spending is personal purchases, I still live at home so I don’t have groceries, big monthly bills etc. I don’t care much for lounge access or anything of that sort, I think I just want a credit card that has good perks to help save me some money while travelling or help protect me while travelling. I also live in a border city so I travel over to the states often (like approx 2-3 times a month) and typically fly out of DTW as well. I’m not airline specific when I travel, I typically look for the best deal. Looking for recommendations on any cards that could help me save some money abroad or offer me some good benefits for my travels. Thank you !

I rather use the points towards all inclusive packages vs flight/hotel

I have a trip coming up - through a number of South East Asian and North African countries.

Day-to-day activities in many of the countries I'll be visiting, are best handled with cash (CC purchases aren't really an option, off the beaten track) and because the CDN$ exchanges for a much larger amount of local currency in many countries - I'll need to keep ABM withdrawals at less than about $300 ($100CDN exchanges to about 1.9M Vietnamese Dong, for example - and that is a pretty large physical stack of bills to carry around on one's person!).

What's the best (meaning fee cheapest) way to handle these multiple foreign currency ABM withdrawals?

I'll be opening a WS account and ordering their card, and using the EQ account card as backup (I was already a customer) with a SB Passport Infinite for CC purchases. I am looking for a travel credit card with lounge access but all the cards I have found require you to have $60000 annual income. However, my income at this point is only $40000 per year. Can anyone recommend me a credit card that will earn me some good points along with providing lounge access and a free checked bag if possible or priority boarding? Any recommendations are welcome. EDIT - My monthly spending on credit card is $600 - $1000 max My credit score is very good I don’t care much about yearly fees on the card as long as it’s not more than $600 ( but the rewards should be worth it )

My family and I currently put nearly all of our purchases, bill payments, and charitable giving on our Costco credit card.

After reviewing our statements, I realized that over the past few years we’ve charged close to $50,000 annually, yet the cash-back return feels underwhelming.

Given that level of spending, I’m wondering which credit card might be the best fit for maximizing cash back or points. We rarely travel internationally, so I’ve leaned toward cash-back rewards instead of travel points, but I’m open to either if the value is compelling.

Hi everyone, I'm looking for the BEST POSSIBLE credit card/combo and reasons why. I keep seeing the Amex cobalt usually paired with something else. I don't want to spend more than $150 in annual fees (together or one card). Recently applied for the Scotiabank gold Amex card and just waiting for it to arrive. However, by the sounds of talking to Scotiabank you can only maximize the points at specific restaurants (which my city only has 1 of instead of the whole list) and very specific grocery stores (otherwise it's 1 point per $ spent on everything else unless I'm wrong about this). I'm wanting to accumulate the most amount of points possible through everyday spending, excursions etc. to use for flights in the future. Please help me out. I'm seeing the same responses everywhere but it's not exactly clear why. (TD, Amex, Scotia, CIBC, BMO, RBC etc. Open to anything)

Hi! I wanted to get a second credit card and am unsure which one i should get. My credit score is really new I just got my first card 6 months ago when I turned 18. But since I go to university in Ontario and am from BC I travel a lot bw the two places (4x a year). So i was wondering if there is any beginner credit card you would recommend that also comes handy when it comes from travel perks, etc.

I also don't have a job as of right now if that makes a difference in what you recommend.

So I am 18, and I want to get my first credit card, but I want it to be a travel credit card, because I want to travel a lot with my family, and I think that these cards are better than the classic ones. I am also a full-time student, and I have a part-time job, if that is helpful. Can you recommend me good credit cards please? Thanks! I looked at the RBC ion+ card for students, but I am not sure about it, because I think there are better cards out there. However, they give free AirPods Gen 4 when you open a student account with them, so that is a perk.

Who offers the best travel card in 2024.

I fly every two weeks for work, so do a lot of flying. My employer re-reimburses the flights but I buy through my card.

I was looking at either the scotia aeroplan card or the AMEX cobalt card. Fees for the cards seem crazy though. Is there a place where you can find who is currently waiving fees or offering promotions to sign up?

I like using lounges so decent lounge access important too.

What is the best travel credit card for mid income Canadians family?

I have West jet and still love it because of free checked bag and companion. Initially i wanted to cancel it but my partner and I still hold one in case we want to travel to ski etc.

I got a Scotia scene passport a year ago but it's totally not worth it and I won't be renewing.

Monthly spending is usually around $2-3k.
