It may be a stupid question, but did you download the Jabra app? I've never really had any of the issues you've mentioned for the Jabra 75t. The only feature I find useless on it is the gps tracker. it really doesn't work at all to be honest.
If you're looking for a similar shape, maybe look into the Jaybird vista. It is directed a bit more for working out, but in my experience they work very well.
