October 22, 2024Need some advice for 4K TV for Playstation gaming.
I haven't kept up to date on all of the latest models (since I got my 4KTV back in 2015: a Sony X850C, which was one of Sony's 2015 mid range 4K options) However there is one site you absolutely need to check out, as it greatly helped and informed me: https://www.rtings.com/tv As for OS: my X850C has Android. It's been fine, you get the whole suite of Google Play store apps (at least the TV ones), and Chromecast is built in which I love. On the downside, sometimes Android has locked up and required the TV to reboot, nothing major, and only happens to me on first boot-up, so more of a minor annoyance. No experience with the Linux OS, but I'm guessing it isn't as feature-rich as the Android ones) For what it's worth, Sony uses the letters to denote generation. ie. a F is newer than E, newer than D...so that may help you determine why some are at a better value. Overall I've been very happy with Sony. Sony and Samsung are the top brands in my opinion and you can't go wrong with either. (although I've heard people swear by Vizio too) More on reddit.com
